What You Will Achieve
  • Responsible for leading Production Planning teams for the Kalamazoo, Puurs and Rocky Mount sites (Cluster 3), and to connect planning activities across the Sterile Injectables and Biotech operational unit (SBO) and the rest of the Pfizer Global Supply (PGS) plant network to enhance the adoption of global standard work and Production Planning processes.
  • This position will work with the other Network Production Planning (NPP) team leaders, with the SBO-cluster 3 leadership team, and Global Supply Chain category teams to set overall site planning strategies and, when needed, broker day to day planning decisions and trade-offs working with all relevant stakeholders.
  • The role will be part of the SBO NPP leadership team and will be an extended member of the SBO3 OpU Cluster, working very closely with the cluster lead, plant leaders and their LT's.
  • The colleague will actively participate and drive SBO3 and SBO NPP IMEx up to Cluster T4 and will support SBO T5s. She/he will drive Continuous Improvement, technical capability development and process adherence in Production Planning. The role will actively support Volume and inventory budgeting for the cluster.
  • She/he will manage 3 teams with the responsibility for Production Planning and continuous improvement within each of the cluster sites, driving colleague coaching and development and fostering cross-site planning team collaboration and the development of a single global team.
  • The role leverages technical/functional expertise and planning best practices across the PGS network. It will require to closely track and improve technical capability development and standard work process adherence. The role will require the facilitation of input from global process owners to deploy training and process improvements, in partnership with the Network Planning Processes Team.
  • The person is responsible for an environment where standardization, continuous improvement, and innovation in the SBO3 planning area are embedded in day-to-day operations through the IMEx framework and where plans for managing talent are developed.

How You Will Achieve It
  • Direct management of team members, coaching, mentoring, and managing the team to drive planning excellence for the targeted plants. Responsible for the development, recruitment, and retention of talent.
  • Oversee the team members working with stakeholders to set priorities and deliverables, manage escalated planning decisions and trade-offs, and initiate and manage resolution of supply issues.
  • Lead planning process standardization and improvements through direct performance management of the team, including development of tailored training curriculums and facilitation of capability development via global capability owners; by conducting regular process adherence and efficacy reviews across sites through the IMEx framework.
  • Drive SBO3 and NPP SBO IMEx - Integrated Management and Execution, VM - visual management, DOC - Digital Operations Center and CI - Continuous Improvement efforts up to Cluster T4 and will support SBO T5s.
  • Drive initiatives to improve targeted plants supply initiating and overseeing significant supply improvement projects and ensuring coordination of relevant stakeholders; Also overseeing continuous improvement efforts and identifying opportunities to refine planning processes working with global process owners.
  • Facilitate communication efforts between sites and above-site teams as intermediary for supply discussions between sites, Production Planning Leads, Product Portfolio Leaders (PPLs), Brand Supply Leaders (BSLs), Above Market Planning (AMP), markets, etc.
  • Communicate site demand and volume projections with OpU leadership, Plants, and Brand Supply Leadership based on aggregation of site-wide demand changes and rough-cut capacity projections, including sensitivity and rigor-testing of site projections.
  • Own visibility of assigned supply performance metrics maintaining and publishing an aggregate network-wide view of performance, in collaboration with SCL/BSL team and sites.

Qualifications
Must-have
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a network of relationships and strategic mind set / approach.
  • Demonstrated strong leadership, development, and management skills.
  • Knowledge of SAP and advanced planning tools.
  • Deep understanding of a wide range of planning processes from finished good upstream to API.
  • BS in Operations management, Supply Chain or engineering field required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 12+ years of experience in Supply Chain / Materials Management, operations management, or Commercial Operations in the pharmaceutical industry. Broad understanding of the API supply chain environment.
  • Strong Supply Chain Planning skills, experience, and mastery of SAP or Kinaxis Planning toolset strongly preferred.

Nice-to-have
  • Experience of supporting a sterile injectable or biotech operation is preferred.
  • Relevant operational experience across diverse business portfolio a plus (e.g., Biopharmaceuticals, Consumer Products, other industries.)
  • Proven analytical skills, including technical skills with Business Intelligence platforms (e.g., SAP BI/BOBJ/Tableau) preferred.
  • 5+ years of Project management experience an advantage, supply chain or project management certifications (CPIM, CSCP, PMP, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing is a plus.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $173,300.00 to $288,800.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 22.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
