Director, Material Planning is defined as working proactively with Material Planning, Purchasing, Supplier Quality, and Suppliers, to identify future capacity issues at supplier manufacturing locations with adverse impact on vehicle production plans. Focus is data-driven analysis to determine when and how production is impacted, and to work closely with Suppliers on containment plans to ensure continuity of supply.
The successful candidate will work with internal, external teams to create and maintain valid action plans to resolve and prevent issues with suppliers. Participate in regular planning reviews and prepare data in line with changes.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead the global Demand Planning for production and service demand: Using a global demand forecast, create / monitor / update a global demand plan to support new production and service demand.
  • Production Planning: Create / monitor/update production schedules that reconcile demand plans with internal/external manufacturing capacity.
  • Supply Planning: Define, monitor, update, and optimize quantities of input parts / procured finished subassemblies to support production plans while protecting against demand and lead time variability.
  • Purchasing: Define, implement, operate, maintain, and improve the Purchase Order cycle. Create appropriate checks and balances in the Purchase Order cycle with the overall goal that spending must be validated based on approval of part/vendor combinations, production state and level of spend.
  • Change Management: Control the approval of hardware-related changes and monitor the implementation of approved changes.
  • Define and evolve Fisker's inventory strategy by determining and monitoring the correct quantities of finished assemblies and input materials required to be held at various points in the distribution network to support both manufacturing operations and operations.
  • Scale the Team: Design and staff the Material Planning organization to effectively support operations in current and projected markets.
  • Monitor production plans, forecasts, and schedules relating to materials required to meet operational requirements.
  • Collaborate with Purchasing and other departments internal/external to maintain continuity in the supply chain.
  • Ensure the capacity and flexibility of the supply base is closely followed and reported.
  • Work closely with Fisker manufacturing Material Planning to identify capacity constraint issues within the supply base.
  • Work closely with suppliers to analyze identified capacity issues and lead cross-functional team to develop containment plans.
  • Develop optimized production schedule recommendations to meet production requirements.
  • Facilitates daily constraint review meeting to align with production requirements.
  • Implements replenishment systems to ensure optimum inventory levels to meet on-time delivery.
  • Collaborates with the Quality organization on supplier evaluations and performance management via KPI scorecard.
  • Review any changes in production plans and ensure constrained supplier deliveries will be on-time to meet production schedules.
  • Develop countermeasure processes to ensure an uninterrupted supply of parts.
  • Working according to Fisker Inc. principles.

Basic Qualifications / Knowledge / Experience
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in operational supply chain analyst function.
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain/Logistics or higher.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Experienced in SAP S4 Hana or other systems for demand planning, forecasting, and inventory management.
  • Previous fast-paced, high-volume automotive experience with Material planning.
  • Driven, self-managed and results oriented.
  • Strong customer-focus and service mindset with the ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships.
  • Solid understanding of Tier 1 supplier operations and risks.

Expected Salary Range: $150,000.00-210,000.00 a year.
Additional compensation: Salary is one part of total compensation which includes bonuses, equity awards as applicable, and benefits. An employee is eligible to participate in Fisker's equity program, subject to the rules governing such programs.
Benefits: Fisker provides comprehensive medical, prescription, dental, vision, and disability insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Fisker covers most of the premiums for employees.
The salary offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors including market location, job-related knowledge, education/training, certifications, key skills, experience, internal peer equity as well as business considerations. Fisker reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position within the salary range listed, taking into account the wide variety of factors listed above.
