Job description

Director, IT Infrastructure


Reporting to the CIO, the Director of IT Infrastructure is part of the IT Leadership team and is accountable for design, build and operation of Imperva’s on premise and cloud infrastructure, Network and IT operations. The candidate will have responsibility for architecting a multi-year Infrastructure and Operations roadmap and executing on it, while working closely with the Information Security organization to manage security operations . The right candidate will possess a mix of pragmatism, creativity, solid management skills and technical depth.

Key Responsibilities:

Planning

  • Partner with CIO and IT Leadership team to develop technology infrastructure based on business needs
  • Work closely with Imperva Information Security team to plan a security solutions roadmap
  • Work collaboratively with Product Development (PD) dev ops in managing infrastructure supporting PD and other teams, including Cloud Operations.
  • Ensure sufficient resource capabilities.
  • Lead the Infrastructure work stream for Thales Integration
  • Develop capacity plans to ensure performance of current and planned processes.
  • Proactively research and investigate new or improved methodology or technology that will either improve IT customer or IT infrastructure processes, increase profitability, or reduce expenses.

Organizational Management

  • Organize staff to best utilize talent efficiently and effectively to achieve company objectives.
  • Lead and manage a team of up to 15 full time employees and additional temporary contractors in multiple locations and countries.
  • Provide detailed performance feedback and improvement plans.

Architecture & Design

  • Provide architectural leadership to IT and Imperva at large on all aspects related to infrastructure, security and IT operations
  • Design and build of IT infrastructure, both on premise and private/public cloud
  • Capacity planning and specifying required system hardware and network connectivity prior to the rollout of new infrastructure initiatives or in support of new applications
  • Collaborate on the integration of physical and application architecture through close teamwork with software architects, application developers and operations teams.

Operations

  • Manage Imperva data centers, network and cloud infrastructure
  • Manage IT Operations
  • Oversee management and execution of Infrastructure projects.
  • Document technical environments, processes and procedures, testing plans, project plans.
  • Orchestrating infrastructure initiative efforts across multiple diverse project teams.
  • Providing resource management to major initiatives by forecasting resource demands with functional areas, coordinating the staffing of infrastructure programs/projects with managers, and providing work direction and coaching

Financial

Participate in IT financial planning with CIO and IT leadership
Prepare annual department budgets and proactively manage spend to meet financial targets

Security

Collaborate closely with CISO and Information Security team in design, implementation and operations of security controls and technologies to safeguard Imperva information assets


Infrastructure & Operations team is responsible for the following functions

  • Data Center Operations
  • Server Administration of Windows, Unix and Linux servers.
  • Network management
  • Database Administration
  • Change management
  • Setting technology standards
  • Disaster Recovery planning and design
  • Capacity planning
  • Licenses, Warranty, and Subscription for in-scope Tech-Stack
  • Monitoring and Alerting
  • Asset Management
  • Overseeing 24x7 On-Call rotation globally
  • Tech Stack:
    • Networking: Cisco, Meraki, Palo Alto Firewalls and SASE
    • Operations: O365, JAMF Connect, Intune, PingIdentity, DFS, PowerShell, AD and AzureAD, on/off boarding, Collaboration Tools
    • Infrastructure: Cisco, Dell, HPE, VMWare, Netapp, AWS, GCP, Azure


Minimum Qualifications:


  • 15 + years of experience in the technology profession focused on IT infrastructure design and management
  • 10+ years program and project management experience, including estimating and forecasting, budget and financial management, staffing / hiring and resource management
  • Experience in architecting and implementing cloud solutions using AWS, Azure or other solutions
  • Background in SaaS/Software industry is preferred.
  • Proven ability to translate business requirements into solutions that map to technology capabilities
  • Ability to provide cross-functional leadership to ensure project objectives and deadlines are met
  • Experience in managing and operating a global infrastructure environment is required.
  • Understanding of how application development and business organizations use infrastructure
  • Analytical problem solving and fact finding skills
  • Excellent supervisory and management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to identify, clarify and resolve project activity issues and risks as needed
  • Experiences across both application development and IT infrastructure services / operations desired
  • Experience with technology architecture and platform integration is required
  • Understanding of ITIL and service management / operations required
  • Operational reporting experiences relative to OLAs and/or SLAs desired
  • Prior vendor management experiences of value
  • Relevant Bachelor's degree required.


The anticipated annual base salary range for this position is US$184,000 – $230,000. The salary offered will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, knowledge, skills, other qualifications, and location.
