Description
This position supports the work of the YMCA of Columbia-Willamette (YMCACW), a leading charitable organization committed to strengthening the foundations of our communities. The Director, Information Technology stewards the Y's cause and advocates for the Y's mission by promoting and protecting both the brand and its reputation as a global, inclusive organization.
The Director, Information Technology is a key position on the YMCA management team. This position leads the Information Technology department and is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and ongoing management of initiatives across the organization aimed at delivering a positive end-user experience through enhanced IT service performance.
The Director, Information Technology partners heavily with our Leadership Team to develop and execute Information Technology strategies across our regions and sites. This position requires a thorough understanding of the YMCA's strategic plans, operating objectives, and core values. The Director, Information Technology must possess strong analytical, communication and leadership skills and is expected to play a proactive role at the YMCA.
Requirements
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Leads IT strategic and operational planning to achieve company goals by fostering innovation, prioritizing IT initiatives, and coordinating the evaluation, deployment, and management of current and future information systems across the organization.
• Advises senior management on strategic system implementations, conversions, and integrations in alignment with and in support of business goals and objectives. Serves on planning and policy-making committees.
• Evaluates overall operations of computing and Information Technology functions and recommends enhancements to improve operational efficiency.
• Develops and maintains an appropriate IT organizational structure that supports the needs of the business and is responsive to the company's growth and objectives. Establishes IT departmental goals, objectives, and operating procedures.
• Develops and establishes company policies, standards, guidelines, and operating procedures for computing and Information Technology.
• Establishes company-wide systems architecture to support and guide individual business units and locations in their respective computing and Information Technology efforts.
• Continually identifies emerging information technologies to be assimilated, integrated, and introduced within the company. Evaluates new computing technologies, determines feasibility of system enhancements, and make recommendations to determine potential value for the company. Assesses and communicates risks associated with IT investments.
• Seeks out opportunities for appropriate and cost-effective investments in information systems and resources, including staffing, sourcing, purchasing, and in-house development.
• Develops, tracks, and controls the Information Technology annual operating and capital budgets. Develops business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IT spending and initiatives.
• Directs development, review, certification and execution of all back-up and enterprise- wide disaster recovery procedures and plans. Directs the information and data integrity of the company and its business units. Ensures the security of all company information systems, communication lines, and equipment.
• Oversees the development, design, and implementation of new applications and changes to existing computer systems and software packages.
• Coordinates and facilitates consultation with stakeholders to define business and systems requirements for new technology implementations.
• Reviews hardware and software acquisition and maintenance contracts and manages relationships with key vendors and service providers.
• Defines and communicates corporate plans, policies, and standards for the organization for acquiring, implementing, and operating information systems.
• Ensures continuous delivery of IT services through oversight of service level agreements with end users and monitoring of information systems performance.
• Develops and utilizes key performance indicators (KPI's) and metrics to determine departmental effectiveness. Assesses and makes recommendations on the improvement or re-engineering of the IT organization.
• Ensures IT operation adheres to applicable laws, contracts, and regulations. Establishes lines of control for current and proposed information systems.
• Keeps current with trends and issues in the IT industry, including current technologies and costs. Advises, counsels, and educates senior management on their competitive or financial impact.
• Promotes and oversees strategic relationships between internal customers, IT resources and external entities. Interacts with company managers on internal and external operations that are impacted by the capture, storage, processing, and dissemination of information.
• Supervises recruitment, development, mentoring, coaching, retention, and organization of all IT staff in accordance with overall budgetary objectives and personnel policies.
REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor's degree, Master's degree preferred
• Minimum of 10 years' experience in Information Technology, business systems analysis or process improvement position.
• Substantial exposure to enterprise software applications, such as practice management, business intelligence, scheduling, CRM, ERP, asset management, and HRIS.
• Experience selecting and implementing SaaS cloud applications including migrating from on-premise to SaaS.
• Knowledge of and experience in full software development lifecycle and use of a variety of life cycle methods (e.g., agile, waterfall, package-based).
• Ability to manage the entire spectrum of Information Technology operations, with demonstrated experience conceiving, deploying, and managing large-scale and wide- ranging technology projects and teams.
• Excellent understanding of project management principles, with experience in project management or IT management in a fast-paced, high growth environment.
• Considerable knowledge of general business processes, management, budgeting, and general operations.
• Experience in managing business change initiatives and the application of organizational change management techniques.
• Strong understanding of human resource management principles, practices, and procedures.
• Occasional evening and weekend work to meet deadlines.
• Sitting for extended periods of time.
• Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and to handle other computer components.
• Ability to lift 35 lbs.
• Physically able to participate in training sessions, presentations, and meetings.
• Some travel may be required.
Salary Description
$80,000-$95,000 Annually
