Job Summary and QualificationsThis position oversees and coordinates efforts across the 3M HIM Technologies Regulatory & Testing team and 3M HIM Technologies Operations team to provide highly available, up-to-date coding technologies and exceptional customer service to support HCA’s revenue cycle objectives. This position collaborates with the vendor and internal technical and business teams to ensure 3M 360 Encompass, 360MD, EngageOne, Web Coding & Reimbursement are up to date and compliant with federal coding regulations, and that any system issues are identified and resolved quickly and completely. This position also assesses risk of application changes and ensures changes to the applications are coordinated and documented according to ITG standards.
Major Responsibilities:
Personnel Management
• Plan and control annual department budget
• Coordinate with resource managers to determine required resource allocations for various efforts, and ensure labor allocations are maintained and timesheets are approved timely
• Mentor management and staff on growth opportunities and complete performance reviews
• Recruit and hire management within the functional areas
Application Support Operations
• Devise and establish policies and systems to ensure 3M HIS interfaces, product settings, and workflow are functioning optimally
• Establish alert and incident response and defect management strategies and ensure execution of area goals and work priorities of 3M HIS Technologies applications
• Drive high availability of applications and manage engagement with the corporate High Availability program
• Ensure compliance with enterprise change management policies
Management of Projects and Regulatory Releases
• Oversee maintenance and execution of regression test set with multiple EHRs with all 3M software releases
• Oversee development of release-specific use case test sets and necessary communication to end users
• Ensure coordination of required regulatory and functional changes across the coding applications, EHR systems, Patient Accounting, and EDW
• Provide thought leadership and expertise across ITG and business owners to ensure the right solution is implemented the right way
• Ensure coordination with the 3M HIM Technologies Development department to support new implementations, additional features, and enhancements to the applications.
Vendor relations and contract management
• Ensure 3M HIS provides products and information to ITG stakeholders and business partners for software releases
• Works directly with the 3M HIS National Account Rep and other 3M HIS management to ensure prime service is received by HCA IT&S and its customers
• Oversee administration of the 3M and AMA contracts 3M HIS applications

• Performs other duties as assigned

Education & Experience:
• Bachelor's degree required
• 3+ years’ experience in a leadership role preferred
• 5+ years’ experience in healthcare IT preferred or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
Licenses, Certifications, & Training:
• Regulatory Health Information Administration preferred
