The Director of Account Management is responsible for leading and managing the Government Client relationship organization to ensure the successful retention and growth of client accounts. This role involves developing and implementing strategic accounts plans, fostering strong client relationships with C-suite individuals within our client portfolio, and developing the Account Management support team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Account Management, experience leading a team of managers who oversee our frontline Account Executive , and exceptional leadership skills and a deep understanding of the industry landscape. The Director of Account Management implements short and long-term strategies for building client relationships, generating new business and driving revenue growth.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Maintain and build critical executive-level relationships with all client relationships within the Government space.
  • Maintain and refine the business strategy to provide a culture of excellence, accountability, and integrity in customer service to Avesis’ clients, ensuring retention and quality improvement.
  • Develop strategies to create and provide unique, and value-added services to health plan clients based upon their market needs and aligned with their individual business philosophies.
  • Manage staff resources to ensure business, and department needs are met; recruit and train staff necessitated by company growth.
  • Create an environment for staff members that encourages and rewards innovative recommendations and actions.
  • Develop staff performance goals, objectives, and deliverables for Stategic Client Partners
  • Create development plans for staff to ensure employee engagement, including succession plan modeling, and attaining/maintaining consensus regarding initiative and performance needed to achieve employee’s career interests.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings to ensure open lines of communication are in place, and critical information is shared amongst the team.
  • Provide regular reports to the Vice President, Relationship Management, Account Management that track market, client, and staff developments, including strategic recommendations.
  • Provide continuous strategic assessment regarding the health plan accounts and interdepartmental interactions to attain additional efficiencies.
  • Utilize data as a driver for client oversight and engagement, as well as making critical decisions.
  • Work with the Vice President of Account Management to track and effectively manage department budget.
  • Provide high-level oversight and strategic recommendations to staff for presentation development.
  • Facilitate an environment where Strategic Client Partners have the ability to work effectively by minimizing obstacles.
  • Reevaluate rates on an annual basis and work with clients if rerates are needed to maintain the health of the contract.
  • Collaborate with Business Development to provide client or market insights when the group goes to bid or is up for renewal.
  • Work closely with the Implementation department to ensure the accurate execution of new business implementation and benefit changes, product expansion, etc.…
  • Assume additional responsibilities, including special projects as needed or directed.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required. Bachelors and Masters Degree highly desired, however equivalent experience to the Essential Functions and requisites below are required.
  • Minimum of Ten (10) years of Account Management experience and minimum two (2) years managing a team.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, Outlook, etc. Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong leadership skills to drive and motivate teams.
  • Knowledge of CMS standard laws and regulations.
  • Excellent critical listening and thinking skills, the ability to prioritize projects by necessity.
  • Proven ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization of management within and externally to the organization.
  • Strong strategic and negotiation skills.
  • Proven ability to prioritize work and team assignments to deliver projects on time, on budget and meet stakeholders' expectations.
  • Experience in managing cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven track record providing excellent customer service to clients.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with Executive staff.
  • Results-oriented individual with demonstrated experience balancing multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Applicant must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and possess the ability to work well with others under pressure.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Flexible, able to adapt to emergent needs.
FLSA Status: Salary/Exempt
Salary Range: $110,000 - $181,750
