Job Details
The Director, Global Logistics and Distribution will be responsible for creating and managing effective Supply Chain strategies in order to ensure that all goods are delivered in a timely, cost-effective, and efficient manner.
This position is responsible for managing the Distribution, Logistics (internal and contractual), Freight Provider network, and Trade Compliance operations for all global regions where Haemonetics does business. It is responsible for initiating and managing the ongoing projects and operations that will reduce total Supply Chain costs, improve delivery and service to our customers as well as continually improving overall asset management.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Duties are listed in order of greatest importance. The incumbent may be asked to perform other function-related activities in addition to the below mentioned responsibilities as reasonably required by business needs.
• Direct management of Global Distribution Operation teams (Haemonetics hub DC's and 3PL providers), the Global Trade Compliance Team, and the Global Freight Management team.
• P&L Responsibility for Global Distribution and Logistics; includes generation of the Annual Operating Plan and delivery of financial commitments per the plan. Ensure global plans are segmented into Regional inventory and logistic expense goals and executed to AOP expectations.
• Provide management control and oversight of suppliers worldwide to meet customer service needs at lowest total cost. Ensure all supplier management processes are compliant with corporate quality systems and regulatory requirements globally.
• Implement information technology and automation solutions in the Supply Chain function (e.g. warehouse management systems, real-time freight tracking, EDI) as appropriate to improve customer service and/or reduce costs. This will Include optimization of the Oracle ERP platform and interfaces.
• Responsible for talent management and succession planning activities for the distribution and logistics team.
• Coordinate supply-chain benchmarking, including development and maintenance of metrics for monthly review.
• Meet global KPI goals maintaining differentiated service for line fill and cost to serve worldwide.
• Develop the long-range strategic plan for the Supply Chain function; provide analysis and recommendations for global long-term distribution/logistic strategy that is aligned with the functional and corporate strategic plan.
• Proactively develop and drive continuous improvement practices in U.S. and International Trade Compliance.
• Network with other companies and professional associations to identify approaches to enable world class / best in class performance and global best practice implementation across distribution and logistics processes.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training and developing employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree Required
Master's Degree Preferred
EXPERIENCE:
10 years Supply Chain / Logistics management experience
SKILLS:
Effective leadership skills
Global Experience
Strong verbal communication and listening skills
Demonstrated written communication skills
Possesses strong product knowledge
Medical device industry experience
