About our Program:  

Fund Development 

 Population Served: 18-100 years old

Position Summary  

Works within the vision, mission and philosophy of the agency. Participates in programs designed to support all aspects of the annual fundraising objectives of the agency. The Director of Fund Development serves as a front-line fundraiser, a key member of the agency’s fundraising team and oversees the fundraising programs in the assigned territory.

Reporting to the Senior Director, the Director of Fund Development will develop and execute a multi-year fundraising plan including major gifts, annual appeals, planned giving, special events and capital campaigns, as needed to raise $2.5m annually for Pacific Clinics’ Bay Area regional priorities. In all development and fundraising endeavors the Director will work closely with the executive directors, clinical directors, associate directors, managers and staff, and interacts with volunteers, business and community leaders, the Board of Directors and the Community Leadership Board. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities  

  • Plans and executes a comprehensive solicitation plan utilizing Moves Management for a portfolio of identified prospects to ensure a high level of effectiveness and service that is consistent with our strategic growth goals and works in concert with all of Pacific Clinics.
  • Manage a portfolio of high-net worth donors and prospects, developing and implementing tailored cultivation, solicitation and stewardship plans.
  • Engage and mobilize lead volunteers to engage in effective solicitations and other fundraising activities, particularly major donor engagement.
  • Evaluate progress toward goals and provide regular reporting to the Senior Director of Development, Bay Area Region.
  • Help steward Auxiliaries, recognize volunteers, and support their fundraising efforts as needed.
  • Collaborate with Communications on PR initiatives to create/produce fundraising and social media content to expand and enhance the agency visibility and reputation.
  • Lead and collaborate with staff on the management and planning of fundraising events and donor receptions.
  • Direct community donation and fundraising drives.
  • Maintain gift recognition policies.
  • Perform other related duties as requested.

Experience / Requirements   

  • Bachelor of Arts or Science (B.A./B.S.) required
  • Master Degree a plus
  • CFRE a plus.
  • Five-ten years of fundraising experience, including experience closing major gifts.
  • Knowledge and experience in all aspects of philanthropy, including giving trends, benchmarks, and best practices; research; fundraising techniques and strategies; data alalytics; and development operations such as gift process, prospect and donor research, and fundraising reporting.
  • Possess the skills to work with and motivate staff, board members and other volunteers.
  • Be a self starter and goal driven to initiate donor visits and fundraising calls. 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to translate program information to diverse stakeholders ranging from employees, residents and families to high network donors.
  • Possess a deep respect for the individuals we serve and their families.
  • Familiarity with donor database entry and protocol
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
