The Director, Financial Performance will be responsible for performing advanced analysis of financial results to identify new information, emerging trends, and communicate drivers of performance. This leader will also develop forecasts to advise committees and provider sponsors on opportunities to improve organizational performance, understand and mitigate risks, and enable sustainable financial success.

  • Starting salary range, based upon commensurate skills and experience: $140,000 - $170,000 plus robust benefits package

  • Perform advanced analysis of monthly financial statements to determine drivers of performance, reconcile changes and fluctuations, and identify emerging trends
  • Implement key performance indicators to monitor progress toward financial goals, overall financial health, and facilitate proactive decision making
  • Evaluate financial processes, systems, and modeling tools to ensure accuracy in reporting and projections, recommending enhancements for precise, streamlined operations, and improved efficiency
  • Develop and present forecasts and recommendations to senior leadership and provider sponsors, in collaboration with relevant teams to gather input and insights, analyze historical financial data to identify patterns and trends, and highlight potential risks and uncertainties
  • Collaborate and consult with provider sponsors, executive leadership and Board of Directors through effective committee facilitation and presentation of key financial reports, metrics, and actionable insights that highlight opportunities for improved Financial Performance and business outcomes
  • Stay informed of industry trends, regulatory changes, economic factors, and other external influences that may impact Financial Performance and update forecasts based on evolving business conditions

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or related field; work experience will be considered in lieu of education requirement
  • 10+ years of experience in Finance, Actuarial, or related insurance capacity
  • 5+ years of management experience
  • 5+ years working in managed care and/or health insurance industry
  • CPA / CMA, Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA), or Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to improve processes and generate innovative ideas
  • Ability to manipulate and analyze large data sets and think critically to recognize discrepancies, trends, and anomalies and determine meaningful insights and recommendations through advanced analysis
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills – ability to gain trust and influence a wide range of stakeholders across all levels of the organization, in a highly matrixed environment
  • Able to measure business performance and influence through financial indicators, including financial model development and analysis
  • Strong executive presence and presentation skills – ability to translate and communicate topics in a variety of forums, tailoring communications to effectively fit and influence the targeted audience

This position has the flexibility to work remotely, though reporting regularly (at least quarterly) to our office in Madison, WI.  Hardware and equipment will be provided by the company, but candidates must have access to high-speed, non-satellite Internet to successfully work from home.
