We are seeking a Director of Field Operations Optimizationto join our federal team to lead business growth, centralization, and operational excellence efforts for our Field Operations teams across various locations. The position will be based virtually with travel up to 50%.
This position will have oversight and responsibility for ensuring centralized operational capabilities to improve efficiency, best practice development, and process and talent optimization. With a high focus on both talent development and continuous improvement, the Director of Field Operations Optimization will support business growth through operational capability and best practice development, centralized operation execution, and process standardization. This position will drive improvement through collaboration and dedicated development of their team and Field Operations. As the Director of Field Operations Optimization, you will be responsible for:
- Managing the department’s centralized business operational delivery efforts through a collaborative partnership with various functional leaders. Remain apprised of the business strategies related to the department’s projects, a functional understanding of Field Operations. Reports out on trends and operational variances to senior leaders
- Lead and resolve high profile customer project issues through on-site presence, engagement, and relationship building
- Deliver efficient, effective, repeatable, and reliable operational support activities
- Provide the framework, coaching, and support to promote and embed an Operational Excellence (OE) culture of sustainable Continuous Improvement (CI). Assist with deployment of formal and hands-on training and facilitating of OE related philosophies and CI processes
- Train and develop Field Operations employees while maintaining adherence to state, federal, and contract obligations
- Work closely with Operations Regional Managers and their teams along with external government customers to resolve issues
- Monitor workflow to ensure the highest levels of efficiency, adherence to quality standards and that department standards and goals are achieved through tracking of operational KPIs
- Establish new processes and procedures, lead training of operations team members to meet contract obligations and building a pipeline of field employees, establish departmental success metrics and monitor
- Engage in managing complex projects that involve working with operations leaders to improve contract performance and/or customer satisfaction
- Ensure JCFS meets regulatory and organization standards. Projects are usually broader and focused on long-term operational issues. Contributes to strategic projects/initiatives for the function
- Recruit, direct, motivate, and develop staff maximizing their individual contribution, professional growth, and their ability to function effectively with their colleagues as a team
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of progressive operations leadership and/or program management experience over Field Operations teams and/or related support teams (engineering, document control, quality, project development, etc)
- 5+ years of direct people management experience
- Excellent initiative and interpersonal communications skills
- Demonstrated ability to influence internal and external processes
- The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Secret level security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with Facility Related Control Systems (FRCS) projects
- Experience in Federal Government business flow and contracting practices. This would encompass all facets of the delivery process from a DoD agency level to project close-out; DoD Agency Management, Program Management, Sources Sought, Contracting Vehicles, Joint-Ventures, Project Development, Govt. Contracting, FARs/DFARs, Sales, Project Execution, Safety, Quality, etc.
Preferred Education:
- Master's degree in Business, Engineering or related field
