The Director – Field Human Resources provides HR leadership to the US Operations function. They will be a key business partner to the U.S. Chief Operations Officer, as well as provide HR leadership across our Company-owned restaurants and operations roles supporting our Franchise system. The Company restaurants are currently dispersed in the U.S. in 9 different markets across 5 states (Columbus, OH; Chicago, IL; Boston, MA; Denver, CO; Orlando, FL; Tampa; FL; Miami, FL; Ft. Lauderdale, FL; Daytona, FL) with over 400 restaurants and 12,000 employees. Franchise support is dispersed across the U.S. in 4 Divisions, with 230+ franchises organizations and nearly 6,000 restaurants.
The Director will lead and provide strategic guidance and technical direction to a dispersed team of 12 HR professionals. This team manages the U.S. Operations people agenda, staffing, retention and development plans and creates and drives the right Restaurant culture to win with our customers and employees.
- Partners with the U.S. COO and U.S. Operations Leadership (6 VPs and 9 Directors of Area Operations) to determine people priorities in line with the U.S. business plan. Leads team to further develop and execute strategies.
- Owns talent management process from restaurant-level employees to Vice Presidents, which includes developing talent and creating bench at all levels.
- Owns and oversees activation of Wendy’s Employment Promises to drive positive culture in our restaurants. Partner with key HR Centers of Excellence to deliver value-added programs to our Company-operated restaurants.
- Owns all employee relations and compliance programs for U.S. Company-owned restaurants.
- Actively participates in the HR Leadership Team and contributes to the broader HR People priorities and objectives.

- Minimum of 5 years of HR generalist background & experience.
- Demonstrated ability to grow, develop and manage a broadly distributed HR team.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate business objectives and recommendations to multiple stakeholder audiences and organizational levels.
- Knowledge and experience with a franchise organization (franchisor & franchisee).
- Supporting client groups across a large, distributed geography.

The base pay range for this position is listed below. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and budget for the open position and also may vary depending on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other relevant factors. This range does not include an estimated value for any benefits, bonus, or other incentives that may be applicable based on position. * The target annual bonus for this role is 25% of annualized base salary, based on actual company and personal performance.
