Position Summary
4-H is currently seeking a Director, eCommerce Operations to contribute to e-Commerce’s goals achievement by developing and implementing an operational strategy that promotes 4-H’s brand, products, and services. Additional duties include oversight of the operational team, product development, analyzing metrics, sales reports and budgeting, and identifying trends to guide future business activities. The Director will also be involved in the development and creation of web content, and the coordination of various eCommerce-related programs.
Responsibilities
- Manage a cohesive team to effectively meet the daily ecommerce operational needs. Manage resource and workforce planning requirements across the team to ensure alignment with current, future, and potential business requirements.
- Set superior standards for operational excellence across all production teams and all levels of eCommerce Operations. Establish and deliver processes, workflows, and operations customized to meet the eCommerce team needs while staying in line with larger Council process requirements for accounting and technology solutions.
- Contribute to the development and lead the execution of strategic and tactical business plans with members of the cross functional team from eCommerce, Marketing, and Resource Development.
- Stay up to date on technology solutions that can improve the efficiency of eCommerce Operations and capabilities aligned with market trends.
- Analyze and report on performance standards of the team, including development and maintaining management dashboards, inventory performance reporting, and business analysis on potential new inventory or project investments.
- Oversee the inventory sourcing, inventory management, and staff planning requirements across geographies to ensure alignment with current, future, and potential business requirements.
- Oversee the product development process using a cross functional team for input to support broader Council marketing plans, the 4-H system needs, and trends that align with the 4-H branding and customer demographics.
- Provide physical support and back-up for the Warehouse Manager to ensure there are no lapses in the day-to-day operations and facilities management of the Wood Dale, IL Warehouse space.

Required Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business management or related field (MBA and/or an emphasis in financial or data analytics preferred).
- 5+ years managing eCommerce operations, including management of staff of 5 or more people.
Preferred Qualifications
- 4+ years managing and leading performance standards with a focus on data and analytics,
- 2+ years’ experience working with Shopify desired, not required.
- 1-2 years’ experience with Sage Intact or other related financial ERP software desired, not required.
- Track record of multi-year success and team building skills in similar role.
- Strong business judgment and decision-making skills; ability to identify, prioritize and articulate high impact initiatives
- Experience leading ecommerce production in multiple markets.
- Experience leading product sourcing, inventory purchasing, and inventory management.
- Confident, and able to thrive in a fast-paced high-growth environment.
- Exceptional process improvement skills with a track record of completing a large range of projects that delivered measurable positive business results.
- Excellent resource planning and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to create new processes and leverage technology to ensure achievement of operational efficiencies to support scale and growth at all levels.
- Expertise in all areas of end-to-end ecommerce production.
- Strong technical background with advanced computer skills
- Ability to deliver presentations to various groups.
- Ability to work effectively under deadlines and juggle several assignments simultaneously
- Ability to distinguish and behave with a good sense of decorum; acting as a brand ambassador is absolutely required
- Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Able to perform in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize.
- Ability to travel.
