Job Description Summary
The Design-to-Value Director will lead a cross-functional team comprised of engineering, sourcing, supplier quality, and manufacturing engineering, to assess and identify opportunities within existing MRI products and sub-systems to streamline designs, optimize the supply chain, and leverage supplier expertise to deliver total landed cost reduction targets.
This leadership role will drive Variable Cost Productivity (VCP) idea generation, idea activation, project execution, tool development, and process improvement in various focus areas towards the overall VCP goal for the MRI business.

Roles and Responsibilities:
Lead overall design-to-value initiative as part of the MR Path to Leadership, delivering cost out opportunities through design-based productivity.
Create and improve MR’s cross-functional design-to-value (DtV) capability and processes to ensure the DtV approach is embedded across the entire business
Lead cross-functional teams to achieve best-in-class design-to value for MR products
Continuous Disruptive Cost Workouts (DCWs) across both NPIs and existing systems involving suppliers
Clear accountability for DCW events and cost reduction targets
Holistic evaluation of cost reduction ideas across sub-system inputs (e.g., Tier 2+), systems, and processes.
Lead and drive VCP idea activation by developing and quantifying business cases through comprehensive cost, benefit, and return on investment analysis.
Lead and drive VCP project execution, partnering closely with engineering and supplier quality & development organizations.
Partner with existing suppliers or identify new suppliers to create component-level design-to-value roadmap and oversee execution of associated roadmap
Build funnel of short-term quick wins and long-term high impact opportunities with out-of-box thinking and data analytics
Partner across the MR organization to create, evolve, and execute a design-to-value strategic plan
Identify and secure resources required to implement short-term and long-term cost out objectives
Create and manage timelines and projects to deliver to cost out targets in the short- and long-term
Communicate program progress and help needed to GEHC leadership, MR leadership, and region leadership
Required Qualifications
A minimum of 10 years of experience leading in Supply Chain or Engineering orgs
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent required
Desired Characteristics

Strong Execution skillset and experience including business case development, project plans, and wing-to-wing ownership and accountability.
Previous experience in regulated medical device company.
Lean trained with experience in applying lean to solve business challenges
