At Prologis, The Development management team delivers about $6 billion worth of projects annually and is constantly looking for opportunities to innovate and improve portfolio performance. the Director, Design and Construction Innovation acts as a change agent that drives standardization, consistency, and environmental responsibility across the portfolio. Reporting into the Global Development Planning, Performance, and Innovation team (PPI), this role will lead all construction design, innovation, and sustainability efforts, including building component standardization and supplier performance management. You may be required to travel up to 40% of the time in this role.
What's needed to do that:

  • Leads the development and implementation of design standards, processes, and tools. Establishes and maintains a streamlined design supply chain and efficient design supplier performance.
  • Lead the evaluation and standardization of relevant building components across all regions
  • Serve as consultant and subject matter authority on evolving technology and standard methodologies to internal project teams, owners and clients.
  • Research, develop, and strategically integrate new ways to utilize technology and model-based information throughout the life-cycle of company projects.
  • Lead all aspects of the identification, internal review, implementation, evaluation and improvement of new software and hardware that improves efficiency of construction design, innovation, or sustainability.
  • Lead the scaling of 4 Construction Innovation initiatives annually and establish partnerships with internal businesses to support our corporate innovation goals.
  • Update status and direction of Design and Construction Innovation efforts, including staff, operations, projects underway or pending, and any identified issues along with their potential impact and recommended solutions.
  • Partner with project teams to ensure that new technologies are consistently validated through project concept and design, project pursuit, pre-construction, operations, and facilities management and owner handover phases.
  • Educate construction teams on the benefit of standardization, innovation, and sustainability.
  • Stay well informed on evolving technology in the market while also communicating the value of updates when applicable.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Project Management, or related field. Master's Degree is a plus
  • 8+ years experience in design, construction, or consulting industry; operations experience preferred and not required.
  • Extensive understanding of design, construction, tools/equipment, and technology processes, platforms and workflows.
  • Confirmed ability to drive consistency and innovation in construction.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization skills, controlled sense of urgency, lead multiple and contending priorities.
  • Demonstrate strong communication and social skills, confident in ability to develop and handle the entire program management process;.
  • Craft effective presentations to tell a story for partner engagement.
  • Strong leadership and mentorship skills with the ability to influence others to ensure robust teams.
  • Ability to travel regularly to other offices and project sites as needed.
  • Ability to engage with senior leaders (both internal and external) to address complex business issues and challenges.

Hiring Salary Range of $128,000.00-$176,000.00. Salary and total compensation package (bonus target and long-term incentive plan) to be determined by the candidate's location, education, experience, and skills, as well as internal pay equity and alignment with market data.
