The role you'll contribute:
The Director of Community Health, Strategy & Innovation serves as a strategic partner and leader of the community benefit team to drive and enhance Community Health needs assessment and Community Health plan processes, Community Health improvement strategy development, and community benefit reporting. With a keen focus on social determinants of health, this role works closely with teams across the system to track community benefit reporting and to elevate our Community Health improvement efforts.
Leads evolution from community activities to community intervention.
Builds necessary infrastructure for evidence-based interventions.
Tracks progress and performance metrics, and impact assessments.
Provides support and staffing for the Community Collaborative Council (3C or Triple C), and is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the its operations, improving the quality and rigor of grant awards, developing a balanced portfolio of RFP's and focus areas, and measuring the impact of grants.
Ensures connections between approved projects and appropriate organizational department leaders. Responsible for setting and executing strategic direction as directed by the chair and board members.

Strategic Planning Community Health Improvement
• Demonstrate ability to articulate complicated Community Health issues.
• Maintain and grow knowledge of community needs, prevalent health conditions, social determinants of health, strategic planning.
• Initiates and leads the development and execution of data-informed initiatives to enhance and improve the health of targeted populations as identified in the CHNA and other sources.
• Provide program leadership to address the social determinants of health through community benefit work efforts, setting priorities and aligning programs to amplify health outcomes.
• Works to inform the community engagement team so that community benefit expenditures can be strategically aimed at improving Community Health and reducing health disparities.
• Leverages and supports community benefit expenditures and implementation strategies to align with the organization's strategic priorities.
• Provides oversight to creation and deployment of the system's annual community benefit report, as well as division and regional breakdowns
Community Benefit Infrastructure
• Leads CFD-South's community benefit tracking and reporting.
• Responsible for the strategic planning and operational performance of CFD-South Community Health team
• Leads and directs the Collaborative Community Council (CCC), which includes funding requests, new project vetting, existing project progress reports and disbursement of funds.
• Partners with key internal hospital and health system clinical leaders and administrators to strengthen Community Health outreach, with special focus on underserved populations.
• Develop and direct the implementation of ongoing Community Benefit communication systems for Senior Leadership at AdventHealth and in all AdventHealth CFD-South hospitals.
• Oversees the approximately $2M community benefit budget and Community Collaborative Council grants budget of approximately $1.2M.
Stakeholder Engagement
• Working with the Community Engagement Director, develop the skills of team members to forge alliances, analyze community assets and foster collaborative relationships with key community stakeholders, community-based organizations, businesses and government partners
• Prioritizes ongoing authentic and culturally competent community engagement and advocacy.
• Develop systems and readily share evidence-based best practices and innovations to address identified Community Health needs to Community Advocacy.
• Lead the CFD-South community benefit team to complete the Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) process, providing guidance, best practices, and education on the process.
• Lead the CFD-South community benefit team through the Community Health Plan (CHP) process. Providing guidance, best practice, tools/templates and education throughout the process. Support, align with and improve the system-wide process.
• Leads the alignment of CFD-S and CFD-N community benefit/health efforts to ensure an aligned division-wide approach to community benefit activities. This includes overseeing the CHNA, CHP development, Steering Committee and CHNA campus committees.
• Represents AdventHealth and collaborates with public and private community organizations and agencies to plan and implement programs to improve the health, wellness and quality of life of the community.
• Builds and/or oversees the development of community relationships throughout the Tri-County area, AdventHealth Foundation Board members and donors to engage them in Community Health improvement opportunities.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• Bachelor's degree in healthcare, business administration, public relations, or related field
• Five years of experience with a full range of business functions and systems, including strategic development and planning, budgeting, business analysis, finance, information systems, human resources, and marketing
• Prior experience working with both internal and external executive level teams, community leaders, and political representatives
• General management experience with a thorough understanding of finance, systems, IT, marketing, and HR
• Proven track record of exceeding goals and a bottom-line orientation
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
• Master's degree in relevant discipline
• Five to ten years' experience in healthcare environment
• Prior community leadership experience working with both internal and external executive-level teams, community leaders, and political representatives
