Supportive Living NW is growing and looking for Direct Support Professionals to join our team in the Federal Way area. At Supportive Living NW, We improve the lives entrusted to our care by delivering an exceptional experience.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.
- Monitor and help clients with their personal care and hygiene, community access skills, personal living skills, and ensure clients maintain a safe and healthy environment.
- Encourage support, and facilitate clients in transportation, getting to medical and dental services, interaction with family, and utilizing public transportation.
- Support the clients in maintaining relationships and developing new relationships.
- Teach skills and activities which will assist clients in attaining a self-satisfying lifestyle.
- Keep apartments clean and safe environment and be knowledgeable of fire drill protocols for each client/apartment.
- Monitor and help clients with their personal care and hygiene.
- Shopping for food and household supplies.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES.
- Be knowledgeable of client individual support plan (IISP) goals and take steps necessary to see that these are being achieved.
- Demonstrate knowledge of requirements for the completeness, thoroughness, and accuracy of logbooks and activity documentation. Collect data and complete daily documentation of client activities and log hours.
- Monitoring and documentation of medications, in accordance with Supportive Living NW Policies and Procedures.
- Respond immediately to all emergencies as directed in Supportive Living NW Policies and Procedures.
- Be an effective communicator, both verbally and in writing.
- Effectively work as part of the Supportive Living NW ISS Team and maintain professional relationships with supervisor and co-workers.
- Consistently and effectively assist and support the Primary Staff in providing services to clients.
QUALIFICATIONS.
- No experience required
- Have the ability to pass a background check
- Valid Driver’s License, auto insurance and a clean driving record
- High school diploma or equivalent
- CPR and First Aid – current or ability to obtain/renew
- NAR, HCA, CNA - current or ability to obtain
