Direct Support Professional

We are looking for a Full-Time Direct Support Professional who is committed to empowering people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) to achieve their maximum potential. As a Direct Support Professional/Mentor you will support clients who have a intellectual/developmental disability. You will work directly with individuals who may require support in one or more areas such as independent community living, employment, socialization, transportation, and more. This position requires open availability Monday-Saturday, some Sundays starting as early as 10/11 am until 7/8 pm. Shifts vary from 4-8 hours per day.

Responsibilities:

• Provide emotional support and companionship for clients.
• Instill a feeling of security for clients, e.g. during moves between different facilities.
• Understand and follow the clients’ needs and preferences (e.g. cultural, spiritual and sexual orientation-related needs).
• Provide basic physical care such as dressing, grooming, bathing and feeding, when applicable.
• Provide safety, companionship or other types of support services.
• Manage assessment, needs and risks by communicating regularly with management, service providers and clients’ family members.
• Document all activities.
• Perform other tasks like preparing budgets and managing assets.

Candidates Must Be :

• 18 Years or older
• Valid Drivers licenses ( No more than 5 points)
• High School Diploma or GED
• Weekend Availability (Required)
• Open Availability (Required)
• Own Transportation ( Required )
• Subject to background checks and drug testing
• 1 year Caregiver Experience (Preferred)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $18.50 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
