Our highly-experienced healthcare professionals provide premium services throughout the DC Metropolitan Area.MBI is seeking dedicated individuals, who want to help facilitate change and growth, to work with adults and children that have serious mental illness and disabilities as Direct Service Professionals. This position provides an opportunity to work as a home care provider in support of our wonderful consumers.Responsibilities and Duties

• Provide assistance with personal hygiene
• Provide a safe environment for the consumer
• Provides companionship in the consumer’s home
• Help with meal preparation and
• Conduct light housekeeping
• Assist with other care-giver duties as needed to support the consumer

 Qualifications

Qualifications and Skills

• Be at least eighteen (18) years of age;
• Have a high school diploma or general equivalency development (GED) certificate;
• Certified in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and thereafter obtain CPR certification annually;
• Complete Phase I and II orientation training approved by DDA;
• Meet the minimum training and qualifications of a personal care aide, as set forth in Section 938 of Chapter 9 of Title 29 DCMR.
• Exhibit professional appearance with consumers;
• Demonstrate that he or she is free from communicable disease as confirmed by annual PPD Skin Test or documentation from a physician;
• Ability to effectively communicate with the client;
• Able to read and write the English language;
• Able to recognize an emergency and be knowledgeable about emergency procedures;
• Agree to carry out the responsibilities to provide homemaker services consistent with the client’s IHP or ISP;
