Direct Support Professional (Dsp)

Overview:
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Direct Support Professionals. As a Direct Support Professional, you will provide care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, ensuring their safety, well-being, and overall quality of life.

Duties:
- Assist individuals with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation
- Provide companionship and emotional support to individuals
- Administer medications and monitor vital signs as necessary
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors
- Assist with transportation to appointments, community outings, and recreational activities
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for individuals
- Document individual progress, incidents, and any changes in behavior or health

Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with people with developmental disabilities is preferred
- Knowledge of caregiving techniques and practices
- Familiarity with nursing home or assisted living facility procedures is a plus
- Ability to effectively manage challenging behaviors and implement behavior management strategies
- First aid certification is required; CPR certification is a plus (We will provide training as needed)
- Understanding of resident rights and the importance of maintaining confidentiality
- Ability to perform basic medical tasks such as taking vital signs is preferred
- Knowledge of dementia care techniques is a plus
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
