GENERAL DESCRIPTION:Kidz Korner is an after-school program for students with autism, down syndrome and other developmental disabilities looking for an enrichment program that will build on the group’s current interests and explore new ideas. The Direct SupportAfter School- After School assists the Program Leader onsite at After School programs to ensure safe, appropriate After School services and activities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
- Ensure that all work is carried out in a manner that is both respectful and empowering to families and individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Assists the Program Leader with care and supervision of children attending the after-school program.
- Participates in the organizations wide array of indoor and outdoor activities including arts, crafts, games, music, dance and educational projects, and group activities.
- Ensures the health and safety of all program participants.
- Provides input at staff meetings and as needed discussing participant wellbeing and program quality.
- Provide updates in behaviors to Program Leads and participants parents as needed.
- Based on need, Aides may be required to travel to other after-school program locations to fill in if short staffed.
- Maintains CPR/First Aid certification (every two years) and Handle with Care annually, along with other job requirements as necessary.
- Completes 6 professional development hours annually.
- Other duties as assigned by your supervisor and/or Executive Director.
