A Direct Support Professional (DSP) is an extremely rewarding job. It involves helping individuals with developmental disabilities live independently in their own home and be active in their community. DSPs work as part of a team and build relationships with the individual they support which is key to their success. The support provided is based on the level of care the person needs and their life goals. We currently have openings for 2nd and 3rd shift with some 1st shifts available. Duties include assistance with medication, cooking, personal care, doctor appointments, shopping and daily fun activities in the community. DSPs also teach the individual life skills to foster independence.
Vail House provides all required training and certifications. Paid job shadow training is also provided to help build relationships between the client and new hires.
