Life Steps, LLC is dedicated to providing numerous services to assist Adults with Intellectually and Developmental Disability. The services that we provide are Community Based Support, Supportive Employment, Transportation Services, and Support Coordination. All achieved through focusing on abilities, not disabilities.

Title: Direct Support Professional (DSP)

Job Summary:Direct Support Professionals provides supervision and guidance to the individual by performing tasks that include personal care in their homes and in the community as well as promote positive attitudes and behaviors that enhance community inclusion. Flexibility effective l communication written, verbal professional appearance is required.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Insure client’s supervision, safety, well-being growth and quality of care according to the client’s individual service plan (ISP)
• Plan, perform or assist with cares and activities with clients that may include but not limited to household chores, recreation activities and community events.
• Promote community, leisure, and safety skills in addition to providing guidance and support as a positive role model for the client.
• Mentor clients who wish to seek out employment opportunities.
• Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job and maintain professional boundaries between family members and individuals served.
• Transport clients (adhering to all safety policies and laws) as needed to meet program objectives and client’s needs.

Qualifications

• Must have a car, valid New Jersey driver's license, registration and insurance.
• Successfully complete a Criminal background check, drug screening and Physical.
• High School Diploma
• Salary: Ranges from $15.00 - $18.00 per hour based on the case
