Essential Functions
- Provides daily, individualized care and ensures overall safety and health of each assigned client.
- Daily assisted care includes, but is not limited to: personal hygiene/grooming, cooking & feeding, ambulation, medical monitoring, and other healthcare-related assistance. Clients also receive care with areas such as housecleaning, shopping, and managing finances.
- Follow the client’s daily care schedule that is based upon the client’s Individualized Program Plan(IPP) as well as the client’s individualized behavior support plan (program).
- Provide transportation when required for medical appointments, shopping, and recreational outings. Must have documented clearance as an “approved driver” per company policy.
- Complete all daily documentation required for client records in a timely and accurate manner, also includes all required incident reporting.
- Implement Crisis Intervention Procedures as needed and immediately respond to all crisis incidents per policy.
- Guide, teach and assist individuals in skill development and community involvement. Participate in community activities with client(s) and teach appropriate social interaction.
- Use augmentative communication devices or other appropriate means of communication.

- Be a role model and accepting of all Starlight clients and their behaviors.
- Represent Starlight in a positive manner while working in the community.
- Maintain the individuals’ rights and privacy at all times
- Complete all duties as assigned by a supervisor and work assigned shifts.
- Follow all Starlight/ncgCARE policies.
- Complete all mandatory training and attend all required staff meetings.
