This position is part-time, 24 hours/week, Monday through Wednesday, 9:00 am to 5:30 pm at our San Leandro location, 14811 E. 14th Street. Compensation is $30 per hour plus a yearly bonus.
Mercury Mail Services is a Direct Mail and printing company operating continuously for more than 20 years. We print, address, and mail cards for non-profit charitable organizations throughout the country who operate household donation pickup programs as part of their fundraising program.
The Direct Mail Coordinator is a key position that serves as the contact for current and new customers as well as vendors such as the U.S. Postal Service, in-house and off-site printers, and paper suppliers.
Duties:
- Coordinate the printing and mailing schedule for customers each week, ensuring that supplies, artwork, and postal forms are in place and on time.
- Order paper and other office supplies, ensuring that paper rolls for printing by off-site printers are always in stock and delivered to printers in a timely manner.
- Order printed cards for each customer from off-site printer weekly, ensuring that quantities are accurate and print jobs are delivered to Mercury Mail’s in-house printer for addressing on time to meet mailing schedules.
- Develop artwork for customers’ blank template cards using Adobe products like InDesign Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Ensure accurate and timely postage payment by using BCC Mail Manager to transfer raw data to printable format ready to upload to Postal One, a U.S. Post Office product used to pay the postage for all mailing jobs.
- Serve as Mercury Mail’s key contact with the U.S. Postal Service, specifically the Bulk Mail Department.
- Serve as key contact for potential and new customers, providing information on Mercury Mail’s process for scheduling and mailing.
- Work as a team with GIS Specialist who oversees truck routing for customers, and President to ensure smooth operations and excellent customer service.
- Miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Good customer service and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work as part of a small, interdependent team: listening, clear and accurate communication, etc.
- Ability to meet deadlines, managing multiple streams of activity.
- Familiar with Microsoft productivity software and able to learn new applications quickly.
- Prior experience with Direct Mail and/or the U.S. Post Office’s bulk mail process is preferred but not necessary.
