Milestones of Development Inc., a non-profit organization serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, is seeking dedicated and dependable Direct Care staff for weekday shifts for its Adult Day Program located in Vallejo, California.
Compensation:
Compensation: $18.00/hr for Direct Care Aide
Compensation: $19.00/hr after completing special transportation certification

Job Summary:
Direct care Aide & Drivier Job Duties include:
- Transport clients in our van from their residential homes to the Day Program in the morning
- Assist clients with daily living activities including personal grooming, dressing, changing, and feeding.
- Work with clients on communication skills, recreational activities, community access, and living as independently as possible.
- Document and complete required daily reports.
- Learn and follow policies per licensing regulations.
- Follow feeding and eating plans for all clients.
- Have knowledge of emergency procedures, including fire evacuation procedures.
- Clean areas of the Day Program and transport vehicles as assigned and as needed.
- Transport clients in our van from the Day Program to their residential homes in the afternoon
- Perform additional responsibilities and duties as assigned and are appropriate.
Job Requirements:
- Current First Aid and CPR Certification preferred not required
- Pass all required Pre-Employment Exams (Background, drug test, TB test, and physical exam)
- Good driving record is required
- Have a passion for working with people with developmental disabilities.
- Willing to go under background check, drug test, TB test, and physical exam
- Can reliably commute to work
- Comply with confidentiality policies and procedures, including, but not limited to the health insurance portability and accountability Act
- Attend mandatory monthly training
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English and write and follow oral and written instructions and policies and procedures accurately.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform two-person lift
- Ability to kneel, bend, stoop, twist, reach overhead, and possess manual dexterity.
- Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs.
- Must be able to sit for long periods of time
- Frequent walking and standing, pushing/pulling/lifting, and bending/squatting.
Conditional Offer:
