Among the key duties of this positions are the following:

- Guides and instructs a group of Dining Services Workers in the performance of general and specialized food handing, dish room operations, and the maintenance of sanitary cash ops/dining Halls.
- May provide dining room services, including cash register duties.
- Performs any duties of the group.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience
- Requires approximately six months food handling experience.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Must be able to read, write, and effectively communicate with customers.
- Must pass Food Handler’s Certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a fine dining environment; bar tending; guiding and training wait staff; cashiering and cash handling preferred.
- Knowledge of Aloha or other POS.
- Cash and credit card handling.
- Experience in restaurant and banquets: reception, tableside service, a-la-carte service.
- Proven ability to set up a buffet.
- Bar service knowledge, basic wine, spirits and cocktail knowledge.
- Ability to understand and gather equipment needs based on EventMaster packing lists.
- Phone and in-person customer service.
- Ability to take reservations and decide locations to sit guests based on floor plan assignments.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Must be able to stand for entire shift.
- Must be able to lift and carry food and equipment up stairs.
Special Conditions
- Flexible schedule to include nights and weekends.
- Hours: 2:30 pm – 11 pm and alternating weekends.

Immunization Requirements
Under Policy 60.1.35 Immunization Policy for Rutgers Employees and Prospective Employees, Rutgers University requires all prospective employees to provide proof that they are vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption. Rutgers University may require certain prospective employees to receive an updated (bivalent) vaccine dose. Under Policy 100.3.1 Immunization Policy for Covered Individuals, if employment will commence during Flu Season, Rutgers University may require certain prospective employees to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption. Additional infection control and safety policies may apply. Prospective employees should speak with their hiring manager to determine which policies apply to the role or position for which they are applying. Failure to provide proof of vaccination for any required vaccines or obtain a medical or religious exemption from the University will result in rescission of a candidate’s offer of employment or disciplinary action up to and including termination.
