Job Description
Our company is seeking a dedicated and experienced Dining Services Manager (DSM) to oversee the overall operation of our Dining Department. The DSM will ensure that all residents enjoy a superior dining experience by supervising and evaluating the Dining Services assistant manager and Dining Services employees. The DSM will also ensure that the department adheres to all state, county, and federal regulations. Responsibilities- Manage and develop the Dining Services assistant manager and dining team members.
- Ensure staff are adequately trained and have access to necessary resources.
- Oversee departmental budget, cleanliness, sanitation, and maintenance of kitchen equipment.
- Develop menus according to venue needs and work with food vendors on procurement and production.
- Ensure food is prepared according to menus, recipes, and diet cards, and is ready at the proper time.
- Assess and implement residents' special nutritional requirements and requests.
- Provide excellent customer service, answering questions and meeting residents' needs.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Experience in managing a Dining Services team.
- Knowledge of state, county, and federal regulations related to Dining Services.
- Must be a Certified Dietary Manager (CDM)/(CFPP) or complete the CDM designation within first year of employment.
- Prefer one-year supervisory experience in an institutional setting with an understanding of how to use industrial kitchen equipment.
- Prefer Dietary Managers Association membership.
- Must be able to work weekends and some holidays.
Compensation will be competitive and commensurate with experience.
