Digitization Technician

- $15.25 per hour

- Full-time position (40 hours per week)

- Shift: 3:00pm – 11:30pm

Are you passionate about preserving historical document and making them accessible online? Are you interested in working with materials from around the world? If so, you might be the perfect fit for our Digitization Technician role.

As a Digitization Technician at Backstage Library Works (Backstage), you will be part of a team that digitizes rare books, manuscripts, maps, newspapers, photographs, and other cultural heritage materials for libraries, archives, museums, and other institutions around the world. You will learn the proper handling and preparation techniques of rare and fragile documents for digital preservation. You will use proprietary software to collect metadata to ensure the digital preservation of materials is both complete and correct from languages around the world.

You will work at our Bethlehem office, where you will enjoy a friendly and collaborative work environment with flexible hours. · A high school diploma or equivalent

· Basic computer skills (Windows OS) and familiarity with image editing software (Photoshop)

· Attention to detail and accuracy

· Ability to lift to 40 lbs. and stand for long periods of time
