Position Title: Digital Solutions Systems Architect

 

Day In The Life

A Digital Solutions Systems Architect is a key individual contributor of the digital product development team. The role is focused on uncovering stakeholder needs and developing connectivity blueprints that align with business strategy. You will develop an overall north star technical vision for a medical device connectivity ecosystem and bring in a "big-picture" perspective to adaptation of new ideas.

Responsibilities

  • Work with external stakeholders, subject matter experts, and product managers to develop a product roadmap of solution capabilities with respect to the priority of business needs and development timeline.
  • Conceptualize long term, sustainable, digitals solutions leveraging the latest security best practices and emerging technology.
  • Define, describe, diagram, and document current, transitional and target state (north star) of Digital Technology architecture roadmaps. 
  • Understand, interpret and apply the unique implications of developing a connectivity solution for a regulated, active medical device ecosystem.
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable and reliable systems and infrastructure that meet the needs of our products and business requirements.
  • Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, architectural allocation, and interface definition studies to translate stakeholder needs into system requirements.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring of engineering teams, working closely with other architects and business leaders to define, design, and implement new platform features and services.
  • Research, evaluate, and prototype new technologies to realize our connectivity vision and deliver the highest satisfaction to patients and clinicians.

 

Must Have

  • Bachelor's degree with 10 years of work experience in designing and implementing Digital Solutions/IT/product software or advanced degree with 8 years of similar work experience.
  • Minimum 5 years works experience as a Program Lead, Product Owner, or Lead Developer.

 

Nice To Have

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical ideas to business stakeholders and facilitate architecture discussions.
  • Significant experience in designing, building, and maintaining scalable and reliable platforms using cloud-native technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Experience with IoT architecture and methodologies.
  • Possesses a strong understanding of functional and customer requirements and be capable of effectively teaching and mentoring others on how to develop, write, and manage requirements.
  • Medical device IoT connectivity experience.
  • Experience in a fast-paced growth focused organization.
  • Experience with electronic medical records (HIPAA managed data)
  • Familiarity working in an iterative development model with a focus on continuous delivery.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code, configuration management, and automation tools.
  • Delivery of complete end to end IoT solutions for regulated products.
  • Knowledge of regulatory (FDA, EU) requirements and frameworks applicable to medical products.
  • Awareness of emerging and existing legislation with security implications (e.g., DiGA, GDPR, CCPA).
  • Proficiency using UML/SysML, and experience with Model Based Engineering approaches, methods, and techniques, as well as tools such as Enterprise Architect.
  • Familiar with hospital information systems such as EMR or PDMS.
  • Ability To Travel
  • Ability to travel 25%, including internationally.
