Job Description Summary

We're on the lookout for a Digital & Product Marketing Specialist to help lead the way in creating content and Product Marketing materials to continue to help AAM Bring the Future Faster. This newly created role will be part of AAM’s Detroit-based Marketing & Communication Team, who acts as the “agency” for our internal customers—we serve #TeamAAM!
Our ideal teammate will have a passion for automotive innovation, is a strong writer/storyteller and is able to implement a strong creative vision. The Specialist will support the Marketing & Communications team in leading the promotion of AAM and its people, products, technology leadership, quality and operational excellence through product messaging/content and other project support as needed. We also have a lot of fun. Because if you’re not having fun, you’re doing it wrong.
This full-time, hybrid position has a “home base” at our Detroit, Michigan World Headquarters.

Job Description

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; working knowledge of social media platforms and how to create content that performs well in each area; writing experience, including social media content, website copy and more
• Team-oriented approach to project management, from kickoff to completion
• Understanding of various aspects of marketing, including brand marketing, Product Marketing, PR, content management and digital marketing
• Attitude is everything—having the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with multiple partners across a global organization
• Contribute to AAM’s product-based content creation, and develop product-related communication for events, digital platforms and other areas as needed
• Ensure that all of our product-relevant marketing activities adhere to our brand messaging guidelines and resonate with the target audience
• Update product information on AAM’s website and ensure all marketing collateral features the accurate, most recent product information
• Coordinate and assist with social media marketing campaigns to increase product awareness and industry thought leadership

Required Skills and Education

• A quick learner, self-starter and ability to prioritize multiple projects
• New/recent graduates are encouraged to apply
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communication, PR or related field is preferred
• Computer proficiency and experience with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)
• Quick learner who is comfortable in a fast paced, creative work environment
• Detail-oriented and organized, particularly with respect to workflow structure
• Comfortable accepting and managing feedback and constructive criticism
• Able to work on own initiative as well as part of a team
