About this role
The Digital Press Operator is responsible for the daily operation of the Digital Press to assure personal safety while meeting the needs of the company and customer as it pertains to quality, cost, timely deliveries, and general production efficiencies.
A day in the life: What you do
- Operate a digital narrow web Press Operator: HP Indigo WS6800, 8000, & 25K
- Quality control check each job maintaining necessary print quality and color match standards
- Complete all scheduled press maintenance and maximize press production time
- Thoroughly read all production tickets and understand prior to beginning the job
- Perform daily press quality control checks
- Ensures compliance with all relevant Safety/Quality requirements
- Achieves defined production goals
- Maintains accurate scrap and productivity documentation
- Keeps work area and supplies in a clean and orderly condition
- Develops knowledge of the press and related auxiliary equipment
- Controls waste, spoilage, and printing errors
- Efficiently sets up and operates machine to required specifications
- Reads production schedule to determine setup or adjustment of equipment
- Verifies availability of materials needed to complete the order
- Starts machine, monitors operation, and examines product for process and material defects
- Maintains and monitor inks and color tolerances throughout a production run
- Uses color management devices and related software
- Uses barcode scanning devices and related software
- Performs all maintenance tasks
- Performs area start-up and shut-down procedures
- Adhere to GMP
- Other duties as assigned
- Must be flexible to work overtime as required
