POSITION:Digital Organizer and Marketing Specialist
DEPARTMENT: Development and Center for Race and Gender Equity
PAY RATE/FLSA CLASSIFICATION: $22.18 - 26.10 per hour / Non-Exempt
*This is a grant-funded position, with the potential to be integrated as a permanent position.

Job Summary
YWCA Greater Pittsburgh (YWCA GP) has an immediate opening for a full-time Digital Organizer and Marketing Specialist. This new position will use digital communication and Marketing strategies to build a community of supporters (advocates, ambassadors, and donors) around YWCA GP vision of a world in which all women and girls, especially women and girls of color, have equitable access to opportunities.
Interested applicants should be equally passionate about building robust, engaged communities in digital spaces and the necessity of YWCA's mission of eliminating racism and empowering women. This role will primarily focus on implementing digital communications and Marketing strategies to increase awareness of YWCA GP's programs, initiatives, and events, as well as to educate our community about the racial justice issues that impact the women, children, and families with whom we interact, with an emphasis on women's economic empowerment and civic engagement.
The Digital Organizer and Marketing Specialist will report jointly to Communications Manager (Development Department) the Community Engagement Manager (Center for Race and Gender Equity (The Center)).
Essential Job Functions
  • Create and implement a monthly social media content calendar to market advocacy efforts and increase reach and engagement with YWCA GP's mission, programs, and key initiatives.
  • Gather visual and written content to include in monthly email newsletter.
  • Make updates to YWCA GP's website as needed to ensure the public can access accurate, up-to-date information.
  • Implement YWCA USA's media toolkits to promote signature programs such as Week Without Violence, Racial Justice Challenge, Until Justice Just Is, Women's History Month, and various national advocacy initiatives.
  • Create monthly analytics reports showing the success of communications efforts.
  • Work with the Communications Manager, under the supervision of the VP of Development to implement a marketing strategy that transitions YWCA GP's audience to active donors.
  • Conduct in-person visits to YWCA GP's programs, events, and initiatives 1-4 times per month to capture visual content.
  • Responds to messages on social media and builds relationships with community members through timely, informative, and friendly communication to build a mission-aligned network.
  • Provide technical support to online events and programs.
  • Use digital communications and Marketing tools to increase engagement with YWCA GP's Center for Race & Gender Equity programs such as Action Conversation on Race, Racial Healing Conversations, racial justice workshops, and other Center sponsored or partnership activities (such as Just Films).
  • Performs other relevant duties as assigned within the scope of the Development Department and Center for Race and Gender Equity.

Requirements
Qualifications
  • Strong commitment to the mission of eliminating racism and empowering women demonstrated through previous professional, educational, or volunteer efforts.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in English, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related fields.

Required Skills/Knowledge
  • Detail-oriented and organized
  • Excellent writing and proofreading skills
  • Knowledge of intersectional social justice issues currently facing the Pittsburgh community
  • Strong understanding of the functionality of social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, X, and LinkedIn
  • Ability to take initiative to create and maintain positive relationships with YWCA staff and partner organizations
  • Ability to gather and interpret basic digital marketing data
  • Creative mindset and willingness to contribute ideas and recommendations
  • Photography and graphic design experience preferred
  • Experience working with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds
  • Ability to serve as an advocate for individuals of all ethnicities, genders, ages, and backgrounds
  • Ability to work independently in a hybrid work environment

Salary Description
$22.18 per hour - $26.10 per hour
