Salary: $35k- $40k DOE

Weld Seattle helps people returning home from jail or prison rebuild their lives after they have fulfilled their sentence. Helping a person released from incarceration find a safe place to live, a job, and support services is critical to reducing homelessness and recidivism, as well as helping to ensure stability for their children, families, and communities.

Weld provides safe transitional recovery housing in a clean and sober environment, pathways to employment, and reconnection to community. Weld’s simple mission is to provide support systems that keep people from slipping through the cracks.


The Digital Navigator Program aims to provide digital literacy instruction services to underserved individuals. Services are provided through the Digital Navigation and Workforce Development Reentry Support Program Grant.

The Digital Navigator Program Manager will assist the Digital Navigation team in administering the program and ensure one-on-one or small group assistance for community members who need affordable home internet service, internet-capable devices, and/or coaching in introductory digital skills.

Annual range $35,000 - $40,000 DOE (This is a 6-month contracted position.)



Duties

Some of what you'll be doing includes:

  • Manage Digital Navigator staff to ensure the following:
  • Provide individualized assistance to members who need affordable internet-capable devices and home internet service. Receive, return, or initiate telephone contact with clients seeking assistance.
  • Access to technology, current digital skill level, connectivity needs, and internet use connectivity are assessed.
  • Determine program/service eligibility per program/grant requirements. Manage communication with clients on eligibility process and decisions.


  • Collect and record client intake, assessment, and impact data (e.g., intake form, skills assessment, exit survey, and follow-up survey).
  • Collect or coordinate information and maintain records of equipment and services provided to clients.
  • Collaborate with other Weld programs for outreach and marketing activities.
  • Provide or coordinate individualized coaching and instruction to clients receiving digital equipment and internet connectivity services. Coaching and education include: (1) equipment and service setup; (2) use of software and applications for internet browsing, video conferencing, and accessing other online services; and (3) accessing internet services and websites to access benefits, telehealth, and other supportive services.
  • Provide or coordinate client access to self-directed online instruction and written resource materials that support digital learning.

Qualifications

Required: 

  • Two years of experience in IT customer service, help desk, or office administration.
  • Two years of experience managing teams.
  • Experience working with marginalized populations.


 OR

  • Equivalent education/work related experience.


Preferred/Desired Qualifications (Combination of experience and education demonstrating the following professional knowledge, skills, and abilities):

  • Computer Hardware, including demonstrated understanding of and ability to resolve basic technical issues with computer systems and related technology products.
  • Computer Software, including demonstrated understanding of and ability to resolve basic technical issues with Microsoft (i.e., Windows, Office 365, etc.), and Google (i.e., Chrome) products, platforms, and apps.
  • Mobile Devices, including demonstrated ability to work with mobile devices and related device management applications.
  • Digital Literacy Instruction, including demonstrated ability to provide coaching and assistance to clients with low or no skills with computers, internet use, and digital services.
  • Verbal and Written Communication, including demonstrated telephone and online communication skills and ability to establish trust with clients of varied educational and cultural backgrounds.
  • Self-Direction, including demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, collaborative ever changing environment managing heavy workloads, scheduling and managing own time, and organizing required equipment, supplies, and resources.
