Digital Graphic Designer

Empath Health is currently seeking a Digital Graphic Designer to join our team.

The Digital Graphic Designer conceptualizes, creates, maintains, and produces a variety of compelling, on-brand print, photography and video projects for Empath Health and its member organizations. These materials should bring Empath stories to life while helping solve the organization’s unique business and marketing challenges. This position manages multiple projects and vendors; electronic files to appropriate sources; conducts and/or directs photo and video shoots; create digital ads; updates to WordPress websites; and participates in events and activities with the marketing communications team.

Primarily this role is responsible for completion of graphic design, print, video and photography projects. Working at the direction of the creative services manager and marketing communications director, the creative services producer helps interpret client needs to create solutions with high impact.

Secondarily this position serves as the in-house subject matter expert concerning internal and external facility signage. This can include working with internal clients and external vendors to establish necessary parameters.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Create brochures, catalogs, logos, newsletters, advertisements, signs, flyers and other artwork for print and digital media in a timely manner
• Shoot and edit photos and produce videos for publication on and in various platforms; this includes longer-running, high-end videos and short, limited use videos
• Understand the strategic business intent of specific projects and audience/customer goals
• Continually develop knowledge of latest techniques, equipment and concepts
• Generate and cultivate useful and usable ideas across existing and emerging platforms
• Enforce brand standards to ensure consistency and brand integrity
• Coordinate and direct photo and video shoots, creating and maintaining a robust photo library
• Oversee printing vendors, meeting production budget and deadlines
• Leverage best practices to identify and integrate new creative concepts
• Stay current with design/video trends, best practices and work of industry competitors, and how to incorporate knowledge into daily work
• Act as brand champion
• Adhere to Empath Health and marketing communications department processes and procedures, including those for attendance, punctuality and daily time reporting
• Working knowledge of WordPress websites preferred
• Perform other duties as assigned

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree in fine arts, visual arts, graphic arts or design or related field and 3 to 5 years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience designing high-end, original graphics for print, digital and video production, including extensive computer graphics experience preferred.
• Proficiency in design and video editing software such as InDesign, Photoshop, Premier, Black Magic, Illustrator, etc. Must also have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience taking digital photographs and videos.
• Extensive project management experience, from concept creation through editing and implementation.
• Ability to work in PC environment.
• Self-disciplined with effective time management skills and able to work in fast-paced, multi-task environment with rapidly changing priorities and under limited supervision; ability to clarify ambiguous situations, resolve outstanding issues and react quickly to changes in direction.
• Proven track record of working in collaborative teams.
• Well-developed decision-making skills.
• Demonstrate genuine, enthusiastic interest in new projects and possess the ability to help develop ideas for new projects as well as sound ideas on updating existing ones.
• Must provide extensive portfolio.
