The Digital Content and Event Specialist is responsible for advancing the Sherwin-Williams Digital Technology Strategy. The role will focus on the creation and delivery of Digital Content which will enhance the organization’s awareness and understanding of how technology impacts today’s business operations and our people. Key areas will include web and marketing campaign development, events management, Digital Content creation, research of technology platform application and analysis, audience engagement, analytics and metrics.
The ideal candidate will be someone who has experience building and executing strategic communication and engagement plans that include a variety of channels, technologies, formats, tactics, audience types, and messages.
Essential Functions:
Strategy and Planning
- Acquire and maintain detailed knowledge of the Digital Technology (DT) department, key stakeholders, and their strategies to be able to effectively communicate with them in simple, easy to understand business terms
- Stay informed of new and emerging trends in learning technology and communication
- Identify ways to improve processes and efficiencies, and drive shareholder value through those efficiencies
Acquisition and Deployment
- Execute on change management and marketing strategies to create a positive change experience through the coordination of communication and engagement events.
- Develops Digital Content for various audiences to be used to drive positive perception of change and culture - including but not limited to webinars, digital video, audio/podcast, email newsletters, static content, digital communities, and other platforms
- Owns BrandLive relationship.
- Support creative storytelling methods to build awareness and excitement for digital technology initiatives.
- Support online and in-person stakeholder meetings, forums, town halls, steering committee/leadership alignment meetings.
- Coordinate Digital Technology Excellence internal conference events through project management techniques.
- Coordinate, plan, track spend, encourage adoption/engagement for the events.
- Coordinate knowledge share sessions, workshops, and other learning events throughout the year.
- Video script writing & editing support.
- Collaborate with event team, hotel staff and vendor partners to ensure successful events when applicable.
- Manage event calendar schedules and communication via SharePoint sites.
- Provide survey support as needed, including designing, collecting, and reporting on attendee engagement and feedback surveys.
- Draft and review emails, PowerPoints, articles, newsletters, FAQs, templates, and any other communications in partnership with digital core team members.
Operational Management
- Manage distribution lists, calendar invitations, and content/access on SharePoint sites. Ensure lists are kept up to date to ensure attendees get proper access to information.
- Leverage employee feedback channels, monitoring real-time feedback, analyzing data, and making recommendations for improvement
- Coordinate and organize meetings, agendas, minutes, etc.
- Ensure close alignment with Corporate Communications department
- Seek out and recommend opportunities to enhance and add excitement to existing information used in support of the technology departments.
Incidental Functions:
- Assist with projects, as may be required to contribute to efficiency and effectiveness of the work.
- Attend business management and Digital Technology staff meetings where appropriate.
- Attend meetings on behalf of the team.
- Make presentations to management, clients, and peer groups as requested.
- Work outside the standard office 7.5-hour workday may be required
- Support internal teams/task forces on initiatives as assigned.
Formal Education & Certification
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, communications, journalism, business-related field or equivalent experience.
Knowledge & Experience
- 2+ years of event coordination, scheduling, project coordination or communications experience, preferably in a digital or IT communications-related field
- Experience developing Digital Content, such as videos and infographics,
- Experience in dealing with large scale organizational change, preferred.
- Well versed in Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with presentation and communications tools, such as MS PowerPoint, etc.
- Understanding of various essential business functions of an organization.
- Experience translating complex concepts into simple, easy-to-understand explanations for all organizational levels is preferred
