Description:
As a Shift Equipment Engineer at Micron Technology in Boise, Idaho, you are responsible for supervising, sustaining, and improving the equipment and/or processes, while working in partnership with production team members and area engineers. In this position you will supervise tool performance, schedule and perform preventative maintenance on assigned tool sets, and use mechanical, electronic and PC/software skills to solve and repair equipment issues. They are also required to assist with equipment installs, engineering tests, build and modify equipment procedures, increase tool uptime through systematic problem solving and troubleshooting, quality workmanship, and thoroughly document all maintenance.

Safety and quality are primary characteristics of the work being performed. This includes completing the required safety training and conducting all work in accordance with safety policies and laws.
A safe and high quality demeanor means following up and looking out for related issues immediately and works towards resolution with partners. We all perform and facilitate audits and submits good catches on safety issues to proactively reduces incidents of personal injuries, safety hazards or environmental impact. We operate and maintains tools according to documentation and guidelines to ensure safety and quality expectations are met.
Communication & Collaboration:
In order to work efficiently at a world class level we need to collaborate with all areas and work functions. This includes Partners with 1st Shift Engineers and Shift Engineers/Technicians to execute to daily activities and extraordinary activities that include issues that could cause yield loss, excursions, defects, tool restrictions, or output loss.
We collaborate with leaders on our improvement opportunities to construct personal performance and development goals. This benefits everyone by improving performance, output and job satisfaction.
Clear written communication is meaningful to ensures pass down communications are updated and accurately reflects the work performed and tool current statuses. This increases our work efficiency and quality tracking.
Technical/Data Analysis:
You will have opportunities to solve equipment and process issues to enable manufacturing development. As you grow in the role you will be able to provide mentorship to your peers as you resolve highly technical equipment issues and drive to root cause and permanent prevention.
As you work within a Total Productive Maintenance culture the practices will include improving overall equipment effectiveness. This will result with partnering with teammates to eliminate defects create continuous improvement projects.
Analyzing data with SPC principles such as improving process control and reducing defectivity baselines and how the equipment affects SPC performance will enable more effective equipment.
Project Management/Planning:
Improving what we do and how we work is part of everyday activities Micron! You are responsible for collaborating with equipment owners to develop, prioritize, and run projects. Often will be leading projects to ensure objectives are completed within the required scope, schedule and budget. Tracking actions and providing solution paths or resources to ensure actions will be completed on time will be required to be successful at project management.
Minimum Qualifications:
+ BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field of study
+ Intermediate to advance knowledge of AC/DC circuits including fundamentals of electricity, and basic electronic components and circuits
+ Strong PC skills including MS Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
+ Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand tools
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Prior experience maintaining equipment, especially in the semiconductor industry
