Salary: $17 - $22.50 / hour
Job Summary
The Dietetic Technician monitors all residential and day program kitchens to ensure compliance with regulations for National School Breakfast and Lunch Program. Additionally, they reports to the Clinical Dietitian and in his/her absence the Food Service Director.
Responsibilities:- Performs and completes annual onsite monitoring (Sept 1-January 31) at all residential units and day program that participate in National School Breakfast and Lunch Program (NSBLP)
- Monitors day programs that participate in NSBLP at lunch on a monthly basis
- Gathers and reviews and amends Roster/Edit Worksheet and provides daily census and submits to Accounting monthly
- Provides inservice for staff to meet their annual training hours through block inservice at training, at day programs, at FNS department on Civil Rights and any information relating to NSBLP. Maintains records for specific time period
- Tracks annual training hours for staff from FNS and accounting department, records hours in Team Work on Primeroedge. Help and support Training to make sure residential staff are meeting their annual training quotas
- Monitors and interprets policy and memos regarding NSBLP put out by PEARS.
- Monitors and revises Wellness policy as needed by forming a committee that will meet on periodic basis with administrator, staff and students to make sure Woods are adhering to the policy.
- Researches information on electronic counting system, work with IT to streamline the system for residential and day program staff to complete the point of service at breakfast and lunch and completes verification for Accounting department
- Organizes and updates all records for NSBLP so it’s available for Administrative Review
- Gathers information for Administrative review every 3 years and assists with plan of correction for NSBLP
- Supports Dietitians in preparing specialized menus and training residential staff as needed
- Supports Food Service Director and Dietitians by researching food products and recipes that can be incorporate into menus including specialized menus. Completes nutritional analysis for menus.
- Supports Kitchen/Meal Inspector by reporting any issues concerning day programs and/or residential kitchens.
- Prints tags for substitution and change diet order in the data base in the absence of Dietetic Technician 1
- Supervises FNS food production and service in opening and closing as needed.
- Participates in other assigned duties as needed.
- Must be able to work fluctuating hours and days.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and complete moderate physical activity.
Education
- Associate Degree with Dietetic Technician Registered (DTR) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics or a Bachelor degree in Nutrition related field
- 1 year experience as a Dietetic Technician in a residential health care facility or in an educational facility desired.
