Responsibilities:
- Supervise kitchen staff in the preparation, cooking, and serving of meals according to dietary guidelines and menu specifications.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and sanitation standards, including proper storage, handling, and preparation of food.
- Develop and maintain standardized recipes, portion control measures, and production schedules to meet dietary requirements and budgetary constraints.
- Train and mentor kitchen staff in proper food preparation techniques, safety procedures, and customer service principles.
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed to maintain adequate stock levels and minimize waste.
- Collaborate with dietary and nutrition staff to accommodate special dietary needs and preferences of residents or patients.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including equipment maintenance and sanitation.
- Assist with menu planning, budgeting, and cost control initiatives as directed by management.
- Handle any kitchen-related complaints or issues in a professional and timely manner.
- Stay current on industry trends, dietary guidelines, and best practices in food service management.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; culinary or dietary management certification preferred.
- Proven experience as a kitchen supervisor or similar role in a healthcare, hospitality, or institutional setting.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, sanitation practices, and dietary requirements.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and coach a diverse team.
- Solid organizational and time management abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Proficiency in computer applications such as MS Office and food service management software preferred.
- Strong commitment to customer service and resident/patient satisfaction.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00 - $32.00 per hour
