MAIN FUNCTION/POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Responsible for accurately processing all diet orders, diet changes, nutrition consults, and other dietary / nutrition related orders transmitted by Nursing and/or the inter-disciplinary team, in a timely and efficient manner, according to department policies and procedures - for the purpose of facilitating meal delivery to all patients. Works with diet aides to ensure that patients receive the opportunity to select /complete menus appropriate to the diet order. This position is responsible for facilitating pro-activecommunications with nursing & other disciplines, dietitians, and tray line staff. Excellent customer service expectations are to be met at all times.

- High School diploma or equivalent. Able to follow and retain instructions and apply lessons learned during "on the job training" in-services and other competency exercises. Able to read and write English.
- Excellent customer service orientation and skills; ability to handle stress and multi-task with accurate results. Strong organization skills.
- Experience in food service and/or diet office preferred. Diet assistant or diet technician degree preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work performed primarily in the diet office. Spends some time in main kitchen, patient units.
