Provides mechanical repair, routine maintenance, and installation services to the company’s van trailers occasional tractor work. This position requires a mechanic with knowledge, and experience to maintain all transportation fleet vehicles to meet DOT and state requirements for commercial class 8 tractors, trailers. Position represents the Company in a positive image working with our employees, customers, and community in a safe and ethical manner to achieve financial success.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Responsible for inspection, repair, and preventative maintenance of the fleet of company vehicles in compliance with company and DOT standards.
- Works with department personnel and management on parts, tires, and equipment needs required for heavy truck maintenance.
- Required to sign off on the Driver's Vehicle Inspection reports that all repairs have been completed to meet DOT and company requirements.
- Performs a variety of tasks associated with heavy vehicle maintenance and other duties as assigned by management.
- Position may be required to perform roadside repairs as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have own hand tools, have a Class A CDL. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Requires a High School Diploma or GED. Mechanic certification with 3 years mechanical experience.
