Didactic Instructor School Of Anesthesia

Description:Job Summary:
The Didactic Instructor at the Kaiser Permanente School of Anesthesia (KPSA) is responsible for course instruction in a nationally accredited program which may include classroom and clinical teaching, simulation experiences, and facilitation of scholarly projects. Other responsibilities include scholarship and service to the community, the School of Anesthesia and Kaiser Permanente.
Essential Responsibilities:

• Prepares instruction that reflects stated student learning outcomes.
• Implements curriculum and instructional interventions.
• Advises students through feedback, coaching, remediation and engagement.
• Participates in the assessment of student learning and curricular evaluation.
• Participates in the evaluation of candidates for admission to the program.
• Actively practices clinical anesthesia.
• Adheres to high standards of personal and professional conduct.

Basic Qualifications:
Experience

• Minimum of two (2) years' clinical teaching experience in a clinical setting.
• Minimum of two (2) years' experience in lesson planning and instruction.

Education

• Doctorate in nursing, education, the sciences or a related field.

License, Certification, Registration

• Registered Nurse License (California)

• Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (California)

• Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist National Certification

Preferred Qualifications:

• Three (3) or more years clinical teaching experience in a clinical setting.
• Three (3) or more years' experience in lesson planning and instruction.
• Participation in professional organizations.
• Participation in scholarly activities.
• Experience with innovative teaching methodologies in classroom, laboratory and clinical settings.
• Strong background in basic sciences.
• Record of successful collaboration in an academic (university) setting.
