Diagnostic Medical Sonographer

Thermography practice offering sonography services in our St. Petersburg office once or twice per month. We also provide mobile sonography service to a Clearwater location approximately once per month. We offer the following ultrasound examinations: breast, thyroid, carotid Doppler, and transabdominal (full abdomen or specific regions of interest). Proficiency in breast ultrasound is essential since this is the majority of the ultrasound work that we do. Equipment is an Alpinion E-Cube i7 Ultrasound System.

Compensation is on a per case basis with the precise rate depending on experience and proficiency but will range from $30-50/case. Appointments are typically 30 minutes. This opportunity is ideal for an individual who is recently retired or working a second shift with flexibility during the day.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct scanning procedures using ultrasound equipment.
• Skill in production of sonograms meeting physician’s expectations.
• Courteous and helpful behavior towards patients, physicians, and coworkers.
• Assumes responsibility for safety and physical comfort of patient while in sonographer’s care.
• Maintains work area and reports any malfunctions in equipment to supervisor.
• Maintains proper level of probe disinfectant and maintain cleaning log of cidex disinfectant system as appropriate.
• Candidate will not be responsible for patient scheduling.

Requirements:

• Graduate of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program
• RDMS Certified
• Minimum of 2 years practical experience preferred.
• Proficiency in breast, thyroid & carotid Doppler, and abdominal ultrasound
• Must maintain all required registries and licenses to perform imaging procedures.
• Professional and efficient verbal and written communications.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $50.00 - $100.00 per hour

Expected hours: 1 – 5 per week

• No nights
• No weekends
