Summary of Possible Tasks and Duties:
• Complete necessary training requirements for Basic Local Certification for Allegheny County Municipal
Level Local Emergency Management (Certified through PEMA)

• Assist with DHS building evacuation drills, First Aid/CPR/AED Training, active threat trainings, employee
trainings, shelter-in-place and other necessary drills.
• Aid in the transition of the incident report system
• Support general DHS COVID-19 response and recovery efforts
• Assist with emergency operations plan maintenance
• Replenish/maintain building first aid kits and distribute mini first aid kits to staff
• Maintain the DHS Everbridge Emergency Alert System
• Support DHS floor safety teams
• Take part in emergency management trainings, mental health trainings and other professional
development opportunities
• Play a role in special projects in the realm of staff safety, building safety and community response as
determined by supervisor
Skill and Ability Requirements
• Ability to work with diverse project groups to complete various tasks as needed
• Willing to have flexibility with daily tasks
• Able to act cooperatively with diverse groups and teams
• Willingness to learn and train in the field
• Occasional driving may be required. Applicant must have valid driver's license and insurance. Use of
personal car may occur. Refund for mileage is possible.
