What we're looking for:
The Capstone Team Lead will be a key component of an agile delivery team, building and working on enterprise grade software systems or providing cross-cutting support services. The Team Lead will provide technical and Team Leadership through coaching and mentorship and ensure his/her delivery team meets corporate guidance and governance concerning quality, process, architectural standards, and project planning.
Job Responsibilities:
- Guide team efforts towards successful project delivery
- Provide technical leadership to teammates through coaching and mentorship
- Maintain high standards of delivery quality within the team by establishing good practices and habits
- Identify and encourage areas for growth and improvement within the team.
- Collaborate with other Team Leads, business analysts and software architects to plan, design, develop, test, and maintain web- and desktop-based business applications built on a variety of platforms with an emphasis on Microsoft technologies.
- Assist in the collection and documentation of user's requirements, development of user stories, estimates and work plans
- Prepare reports, manuals and other documentation on the status, operation and maintenance of software, support platforms, and related assets.
- Design, develop, and unit test applications or support libraries in accordance with established standards
- Participate in peer-reviews of solution designs and related code
- Package and support deployment of releases
- Work with teammates in the migration of legacy applications to current Microsoft technologies
- Develop, refine, and monitor integrations between applications and company divisions.
- Analyze and resolve technical and application problems
- Assess opportunities for application and process improvement and prepare documentation of rationale to share with team members and other affected parties
- Adhere to high-quality development principles while delivering solutions on-time and on-budget
- Ensure team deliverables meet corporate standards and governance related to security, instrumentation, and data access
- Manage and coordinate team participation in providing third-level support to business users
- Work with Corporate IT leadership to define and develop governance and standards
- Research and evaluate a variety of software products
- monitor and audit time tracking adherence within the time tracking processes for all developers.
- Provide support and coaching to level 1 & level 2 support staff.
- Help set both team and individual quarterly and annual goals in accordance with corporate initiatives and continued improvement of team assets.
- conduct quarterly and annual reviews for bonus performance for each of the full-time employees on his/her team
- Hands on automation skills designing, building, and troubleshooting CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code of enterprise applications
- Build and support highly available CI/CD tools for pipelines and related integrations
- Design, build, and implement reusable YAML pipelines in Azure DevOps while adhering to best practices
- Perform analysis of DevOps practices, identify gaps and impediments for continuous integration and delivery
- Engage with information Security and augment the CI/CD framework with DevSecOps and standardized security tools and controls
- Develop and apply quality controls and gates to the build, test, and deploy process while establishing Definition of Ready to ensure quality of delivery
- Convey a passion for DevOps practices and develop policies, standards, guidelines, governance for both CI/CD practices and DevSecOps quality standards.
- Provide guidance, coaching, training on build, test, and release management best practices
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Applications, Computer Science, Engineering, related field, or equivalent experience
- Hands on experience building CI/CD pipelines using YAML/YML
- Minimum 2 years' experience in developing software for the transportation logistics industry.
- 3-5 years hands on experience with Microsoft Azure or similar Cloud native offerings
- 3-5 years' experience in creating continuous integration and delivery pipelines leveraging cloud native architectures on Microsoft Azure Cloud
- 3-5 years' Experience with agile delivery, SAFe, and DevOps frameworks
- 3-5 years' Experience with Azure DevOps Tools for plan, build, test, release, and monitor
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, PowerShell scripting, Bash, YAML, Json, GIT, Rest API, and Azure Resource Management (ARM) templates
- Experience with Git and various branching and source code management strategies.
- Hands on experience with implementing standards and best practices for the CI/CD framework
- Knowledge of security scanning/monitoring tools and integration with pipeline
- Extensive experience with scripting and debugging on Linux and Windows environments
- Understanding of Test Automation tools and scripts to facilitate Test Driven Development
- Experience with Automated Change Management using modernized solutions like ServiceNow
- Proven and demonstrated experience architecting, leading development, and delivering to market one or more enterprise or consumer centric software solutions
- Experience in leading efforts on large-scale integration projects involving multiple software components, agencies/departments, stakeholders
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- Extensive leadership experience in implementing systems migration and integration to disparate platforms including data migration preferred
- Demonstrated experience in design, modeling development, integration, and deployment of software solutions with multi-vendor 3rd party component systems preferred
- Expertise and experience in implementing multi-tenant cloud-based SaaS and PaaS solutions preferred.
- Experience in delivery of software using an Agile methodology, Scrum preferred
- Working knowledge or experience of Open-Source technologies and tools such as Git, MongoDB, MySQL, Go, Python, Ruby on Rails, etc.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to travel as required
- Working knowledge of infrastructure upgrades and migrations, especially as they relate to migrating applications/systems
- Ability to interpret and document technical designs, physical architectures, and logical system architectures
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
- Interest in hands-on problem solving or solution delivery actively participating in a technical team environment
Desired Skills:
- Experience with Microservices deployment and release management
- Experience with Kubernetes, Kafka, and other enterprise platforms and tooling.
- Microsoft® Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure DevOps Engineer Expert or Azure Developer Associate
- Demonstrated understanding of ADLS, ADF, Databricks, and SQL is a plus
