Come join the Space Based InfraRed System (SBIRS) program as a Full Stack Engineer with a focus on Software Engineering and Development. In our product-based organization, we are looking for talented engineers to contribute to the success of our sustainment and modernization of the SBIRS system in our labs and at our operational sites. In this role, you will be required to exercise a breadth of skillsets, including software development and troubleshooting, data stream verification and troubleshooting (employing an understanding of networking concepts), and installation and general management of our software (employing infrastructure concepts). There will be a focus of learning and gaining ownership of our Data Distribution product, but there is plenty of opportunity to contribute to various projects across the SBIRS ground segment. The candidate will be expected to become familiar w/product capabilities, architecture, and software baseline to include interfaces, be able to install/config the software, contribute to the future/growth of product capabilities.
Some responsibilities would include:
building and setting up new development tools and infrastructure.
understanding the needs of stakeholders and conveying this to developers and vice versa.
working on ways to automate and improve development, build, and release processes.
testing and examining code written by others and analyzing results.
identifying technical problems and developing software updates and 'fixes'.
working with software developers and software engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended.
planning out projects and being involved in project management decisions.
