Form of workSiemensDI SW is looking for a DevOps Engineer with broad cloud experience who will beresponsible for maintaining, executing and deploying external cloudenvironments for customers and engineering divisions. Selected candidates will assume immediateroles in support of EDA cloud initiatives within DI SW and become an integralpart of the cloud enablement team, focused on creating managed services andcustomer environments. The role willrequire deep understanding of infrastructure services available in AWS, Azure,and GCP and integration within a secure enterprise network.
Responsibilitiesinclude but not limited to: Demonstrateknowledge of cloud architecture and necessary implementation features (OS,multi-tenancy, virtualization, containers, orchestration, scalability, etc) Ensurehigh availability of existing secure environments in external cloud space. Providetechnical expertise to troubleshoot complex problems, designing andimplementing solutions spanning private, public and hybrid cloud models and useinternal collaboration tools to document efforts and resolution of customerissues. Communicatewith customers and have investigative type questioning to help resolve theirissues.
UseLinux and Windows skills to help configure hosts in secure environments usingexisting best practices and procedures. Expectedto deploy highly secure environments and handle all aspects of driving theproject to completion including requirements gathering, creating a schedule bysetting expectations, working with engineers in deploying specific software andproviding proper cloud infrastructure to handle specialized secureenvironments. Workclosely with other engineering teams to ensure all aspects of providing ahighly secure environment are met prior to giving access.
MinimalQualifications: Bachelorsdegree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or relevantfield 3-5+years of experience designing, executing, and supporting a variety of IT cloudsolutions DevOps:Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, Packer, Git, and Docker Experiencewith the fundamentals of Linux and Windows administration and scriptinglanguages (e.g Shell scripts & PowerShell) Experiencecoding using a development language - Python or Golang preferred Experiencewith one of the major observability platforms - logs, metrics, and traceability. Familiaritywith data security, data isolation, firewalls, and best practices in multi-tenantenvironment Excellentproblem analysis and problem-solving skills - comfortable leading incidentresolution Abilityto communicate clearly and effectively with peers, partners and customers - verbaland written Abilityto develop and present technical concepts to a business audience Strongcommitment to high quality work and timely deliverables Excellentorganizational skills and time management Preferred: Familiarwith SRE concepts - scalability, availability, maintainability, and portability Cloudarchitecture and operations certifications for AWS, Azure, and GCP Experiencewith Infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools and strong understanding of networkarchitecture and application development methodologies, waterfall to agile(SAFe), CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices Strongunderstand and experience with virtualization and container platforms -Kubernetes, and OpenShift The salary rangefor this position is $121,400 to $218,500 and this role is eligible to earnincentive compensation. The actual compensation offered is based on thesuccessful candidate's work location as well as additional factors, includingjob-related skills, experience, and relevant education/training.
