Job description

JOB SUMMARY
This position performs, under the supervision of a physician or advanced practice nurse, direction and evaluation of cardiac device care in accordance with established philosophy. The position is responsible for: accurate cardiac device interrogation, cardiac device programming changes per physician order, relating effectively with other employees for continuity of care, participating in patient device education, maintenance of record, and updating of policies, procedures, and competencies.
JOB DETAILS AND REQUIREMENTS
Type: Full Time (80 hours per 2 week pay period, with benefits)
Typical hours for this position: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm; No holidays, weekends or call
Education:
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing program with current license as a Registered Nurse by the State of Missouri, BSN strongly preferred OR will accept Certified Clinical Device Specialist. Associates prepared new hire RN's will obtain BSN within 5 years of hire date.
Certification & Licensures:
Current license as a Registered Nurse by the State of Missouri
Current BLS certification
Experience:
Skill in taking vital signs, history, attention to detail, patient education and instruction, and multi-tasking. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, physicians, staff and the public. Ability to maintain quality control standard and maintain calm and effective reactions during emergency situations. Ability to communicate clearly, as well as understanding and responding to detailed oral and written instructions. Assume responsibility for professional growth and development. Ability to learn and efficiency utilize diagnostic equipment, electronic systems for ordering, medical records and other common computer programs. One year of cardiac or telemetry experience strongly desired. Electrophysiology experience is a strong plus.
