Position(s): Developmental Disability Service Supervisor (Group Home Director)

1st Shift/Days off-S/S (0460323)

Salary:$2924.30 (Semi-Monthly)

This is entry-level technical health information work in a state facility.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  1. Successful or higher on most recent performance appraisal
  2. No disciplinary action in the previous 12 months
  3. Employee must be current in mandatory training requirements and department job-specific competencies. Being current in policies will be a consideration in selecting the most qualified candidate for awarding positions.
  4. Have not received a successful bid for a posting within the last ninety (90) days.

What you’ll do:

  1. Supervises mental health professionals in developing, implementing, monitoring, and coordinating community-based mental health services which may include case management, assessment, crisis management, and/or apartment or Group Home living.
  2. Directs the operation of a community-based Group Home for individuals with mental illness and developmental disabilities and supervises professional, technical, direct care, and support staff assigned to the or Group Home.
  3. Participates in the development of individual treatment plans which improve clients’ quality of life; completes periodic evaluations and assessments of client progress/needs.
  4. Monitors and reviews services, interventions, and contacts with clients to ensure services are being implemented according to treatment plans and Medicaid waiver guidelines; evaluates the effectiveness and appropriateness of services in achieving tangible outcomes in areas such as housing, employment, education, leisure activities, and social relationships.
  5. Coordinates services with community and mental health service providers in order to obtain needed services for clients and to improve and maintain the quality of those services. Assists in developing policies and procedures related to the implementation of program services.
  6. Confers with staff and guardians and family (when appropriate) in developing, assessing, and modifying program services to meet the needs of the client population.
  7. Trains program staff in their job duties and on program policies/procedures; assists staff in completing any assignments necessary in the day to day operation of a Group Home. Prepares monthly and periodic reports and maintains accurate records regarding client care and treatment delivery. Exercises considerable independent judgment; receives general administrative supervision. Performs other related duties as assigned.
  8. Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance; arrives to work on time, returns from lunch on time and minimizes unscheduled absences.

Key Skills

  • Intermediate knowledge of current health information management principles and practices. Intermediate knowledge of current medical terminology, classification, and coding systems. Introductory knowledge of federal laws, Missouri statutes, and facility policy requirements relating to the maintenance and release of confidential patient/client information. Introductory knowledge of accreditation standards and guidelines as they relate to the facility. Introductory knowledge of computerized health information systems and general office procedures. Ability to perform qualitative and quantitative analyses of health information records for accuracy and completeness. Ability to classify and code medical records. Ability to interpret and follow instructions. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, vendors, outside agencies, clients, family members, and the general public.
