The Development Specialist plays a key role in the development and stewardship of mid-sized donors and corporate partnerships for the North Memorial Health Foundation. This individual oversees a portfolio of mid-size donors, provides prospect development and donor solicitation support to the development office and assists Manager, Corporate & Individual, Planned Giving with messaging and communications strategies.
Accountabilities:- Builds and manages a portfolio of mid-size donors and maintains strong relationships that enhance donor engagement. Collaborates with the Manager to develop individualized strategies.
- Assists in development and growth of physician engagement and grateful patient fundraising programs in collaboration with the Manager.
- Assists with donor relations support as needed.
- Assists in soliciting sponsorships for Foundation fundraising events.
- Conducts outreach for sponsorship proposals with a focus on recognizing and harnessing opportunities to increase giving from corporate partners.
- Solicits and coordinates gift in-kind support from corporate and individual donors for programs, services, and events.
- Primary liaison for committed corporate sponsors, ensuring all details associated with their sponsorship are managed and communicated both internally and externally.
- Serves as the subject matter expert for wealth analytics, managing the research process, ensuring data integrity, and overseeing the research database, including the integration of wealth screening information into Raiser’s Edge CRM.
- Leads the qualification and cultivation of wealth-screened prospects by assessing potential donors' capacity and affinity to give, leveraging both research and direct outreach.
- Works internally with appropriate North Memorial Health team members to generate grateful patient, vendor, donor and prospect lists for communications and philanthropic solicitations.
- Assists in developing new initiatives and engagement plans related to corporate, individual, and planned giving.
- Serves as a member of the development team by collaborating with colleagues on implementing donor strategies.
- Accepts other duties as assigned to promote the accomplishment of organizational goals.
- Provides professional and courteous customer service to internal and external partners.
Basic Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
Experience:
- Three years development experience required (5 preferred), including experience soliciting individual gifts, working with corporate partners, and prospect research. Healthcare or adjacent experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Expert relationship builder and excellent customer service skills.
- Possess a high level of computer literacy, including experience using Raiser’s Edge or other donor management CRMs.
- Experience using wealth analytics tools like ResearchPoint or Wealth Engine.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
- Highly organized with the ability to work independently, set priorities and complete work on time and with accuracy.
- Ability to multi-task and excel in fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail.
- Mature judgment and the ability to maintain confidential information.
- Ability to work some nights/weekends.
