Development Operations Manager

The DevOps Manager will report to the VP of IT and is responsible for overseeing our internal software development group and all associated activities related to development, testing, tier 3 support and deployments. Amware owns and maintains its own code base for our WMS System, QC Systems, Middleware, RF Mobile devices, Retail Compliance, Shipping, and Billing systems. The ideal candidate for this role will be highly adept at understanding the complexities of the 3PL Ecommerce Fulfilment business.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Manage team consisting of 4 developers, 1 SQL DBA, 1 QC tester using C#, Angular, MVC, .NET, visual studio, SQL Server environments and associated tools.
• Triage the daily needs of the dev team faced with continuous task reprioritization, advanced tier 3 support duties and continued development of new functionality to meet the needs of our operations.
• Provide strategic direction and vision for software engineering. initiatives, aligning them with the organization's goals and objectives.
• Oversee the architecture and design of software systems ensuring scalability, performance, and maintainability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, project managers, and stakeholders, to gather requirements, prioritize tasks, and ensure successful project delivery.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and trends, providing technical expertise and guidance to the team. Drive innovation and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
• Implement robust testing strategies to ensure the quality and reliability of software solutions. Establish and monitor metrics for software performance and reliability.
• Identify and mitigate risks and issues associated with software engineering projects. Proactively address challenges and implement contingency plans when necessary.
• Manage relationships with external vendors and partners when necessary, ensuring the successful integration of third-party software and tools.
• Ensure software systems adhere to regulatory compliance standards and security protocols. Implement appropriate measures to protect sensitive data.

Required Skills/Abilities

• Proven experience as technical manager overseeing full stack developers and/or similar leadership role.
• Previous background working and writing code in C#, SQL Server, .NET, MVC.
• Ability to conduct technological analyses and research.
• 5+ years of experience with enterprise systems, software, and platforms.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Exceptional leadership and organization skills.
• Strong in the areas of strategic thinking and problem solving. Need to be able to “Connect the dots…”
• Experience in a 3PL environment or high-volume shipping environment supporting many clients.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire technical teams.
